Felony Tuesday Randomness

Catching up on a few pictures on this lovely felony Tuesday...

Waiting on a verdict in our civil case a week ago today. =)

My Aspyn Arrows post on 10-25-18: Aspyn Arrows is a foundation started by my friend, Lindsay, in honor of her beautiful daughter, Aspyn Jane, to raise awareness and help prevent SIDS by giving Owlet baby monitors to families in need!! Lindsay and Jon have a compelling testimony, marked by their faith in God’s goodness and power, faith that trusts Him “even if” their prayers for their daughter’s healing were not answered in the way they hoped. Today marks 2 years since Aspyn went to heaven. Her short life has impacted the lives of so many, myself included! I am thankful that she is with Jesus, and thankful that our souls are anchored in eternal hope that is firm and secure! 💕💗💖 #aspynarrows #sidsawareness

A sweet gift from Teresa after I complimented hers the week before... I love it! =)

Random inspiring quote:

Angela posted this pic of Dad on Boss's Day. =)  Makes me happy!

The first night Mom was at my house, when we sat down to rest a minute, I thought to myself, I bet it's almost 11 by now... checked my phone, and it was 12:40am!
Me:  "Ohmygosh, it's 12:40!! What in the world!?"
Mom, in project mode: "Oh wow, I figured it was already 1 or 2.  If you wanna do a couple more things, we could go ahead and take down the stuff on top of the cabinets."
Me:  "Ummm, NO, let's go to bed!!" lolol

The next day, Mom was making bows and asked me what time it was as Tiffany and I sat down to take a break - I told her 11, and she was really surprised, thinking it was around 9.  So all concept of time was lost for us that weekend. lol
We had the last of the peach cobbler (I froze some of it) as our post-decorating treat! lol
YUMM!  #noregrets

Another random meme I liked - maybe changing magical to special, but the general thought holds true!

Our 15/30 run last night - we did a 5k, so yay for that!  Not loving how early it's getting dark now, and that'll get worse next week. =(  My coach wanted a pic by this yard completely decked out in creepy Halloween stuff.  Sooo not my favorite holiday because of death-glorifying stuff like this, which is why I deliberately overshadow it with Christmas decor!

In other news, I'm excited for Bohemian Rhapsody and hoping it will be a good movie.  Dang, Queen has so many great, well-known songs... I didn't realize until I saw all these previews.

Hmm, that's probably all I've got for today.  See y'all again soon! =)

MM ~ Baby Dedication

Yesterday was Baby Dedication Sunday at FBC.  Chet Lee invited family and friends to come support and pray over their family as they dedicate themselves to raising Tate in a home where Jesus is loved and honored as Lord.

(I took this cute pic of Tate while we had brunch at Whataburger afterward!)

They chose Joshua 1:7-9 as his life verse:  "Be strong and very courageous.  Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left.  Then you will be successful in everything you do.  Study this Book of Instruction continually.  Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it.  Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.  This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged.  For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

I love that this applies to men who are called by God to lead (which is all Christian men, even though so many sidestep that call). I love that God exhorts them to be strong and courageous, to study and meditate on His Word, to obey Him so that they will be truly successful.  The command is to be strong rather than fearful and discouraged, and the promise is that God will be with them wherever they go... a solid verse choice! ❤

I appreciate that FBC saved this for the end of the service and asked friends and family to surround and pray for each of the four families dedicating their children that morning.  I couldn't help myself - I had to sneak back and get a picture.  I love that Tate is looking over Chet's shoulder here, possibly wondering why Aunt Lindsey doesn't have her eyes closed. ;-)

Uncle Mossman and Aunt Kelly came (on their 2nd anniversary) to celebrate baby Tate!

I was trying to get him to smile at the selfie-camera, but it didn't work this time. lol

They had a big group there to support them... both sides of their family, L-to-L group friends, and friends that came from several other churches!

Love this one of our friend group, and baby Tate mid-yawn!!  I don't get to see most of these friends as often as I'd like, but I'm thankful that even though we now represent five different churches here (seven or eight when we all get together for Friendsgiving), we have remained close and we show up to support each other in big life events!  I love that Chet and Karli are solid, faithful Christians who made it a priority to publicly dedicate their son to Christ and to make Christ central in their home as they raise him.  And I love that they invited us to pray and celebrate with them!

As we were milling around in the church lobby, debating where to go for brunch -- (Whataburger won, and the honey chicken biscuit was tasty - who knew?) -- anyway, this guy came up to Chet and pointed toward me and Teresa, asking, "Is this your family?"  Chet said, "Yes... annnd yes, by longevity of friendship!" lol  Made me happy!

Here's one last cute father/son pic!

And that's all I've got for today.  Hope your week is off to a great start!!

It's Beginning to Look...

...A Lot Like CHRISTMAS!!

My wonderful Mom came on Thursday to help me decorate!  We put on her happy Christmas music playlist and got to work transforming things.  It was the first time we'd changed my kitchen cabinet tops in 11 years, so we washed and dried the faux grapes, which made me laugh.  There was lots of ladder time and rearranging things to get it just right, but we both stayed in pretty good moods the whole time and had fun!  It was a 3-day process with Mom bringing a full carload + two trips to Hobby Lobby + help from Tiffany on Friday night, but we're done and it looks awesome and I LOVE IT!!  ❤❤ #getexcited

The washing and drying of the grapes, Mom arranging my table centerpiece, and Mom and Tiffany stapling up the garland! =)

Me putting in the silver "ting" for the final finishing touch on the tree!  Also, how fantastic is this tri-color ribbon!!?

My hallway and library room lined with boxes before we got started!!

A simple pink bow for this corner, (and an awesomesauce Movie Night cabinet). =)

Mom is so good with creative vision for stuff like this centerpiece and my kitchen cabinet tops... things I would never have thought of or attempted to try without her, and both of which turned out amazing!!

She also makes beautiful bows and presents, and she has a crizazy amount of glitter ribbon! lol

That cute little quote, "She leaves a little sparkle everywhere she goes" -- that'll be me for the next couple months! lol  My house is a glitter explosion at the moment, but it's fantastic and warm and cozy and inviting and colorful and bright and shiny and unique... done with the help of family and friends (and pipe-cleaner and white Duct tape) to the tune of great Christmas songs... a beautiful early start to the Christmas season!! ❤❤❤

Now I'm off to catch up on my shows and eat some leftover pizza whilst basking in the glow of my Christmas lights! lol  Hope you've had a good week and that you have a lovely weekend! =)

Photo Friday! =)

Happy Fall, ya'll! =)  Even the shadow of my fall chalkboard makes me happy! lol

This has been a lovely, lazy Friday night... writing a bit... catching up on A Million Little Things, Shark Tank, and The Voice... and cooking some cheesy chicken enchilada soup - so good!!  (I had to make some for myself after having it at Sarah's.)

Also made peach cobbler... yummers... get excited!  'Twas a fun night of cooking and baking.  You can build recipes on MyFitnessPal and track the exact calories per serving that way, so huzzah for being able to try new things and cook stuff I like and still stay in my calorie range - YAY!

My cousin, Al, announced today that he and Hilary are engaged, and I'm super excited for them!

Finally, this random cheesy moment on The Voice made me happy!
I had to video it to send to JEM and Chettles! lol

Mmkay, time to finish writing this chapter then take a bath and go to bed.  Hope you have a great weekend!

The Life and Times of Lindsey Claire =)

And now, a very brief life update before I change and go to Fleet Feet. =)

This weekend, I went to Chet Lee's client appreciation event at Le Jardin, a local restaurant with a good atmosphere, good food, and a great mission!

While there, I got to know Scott, a retired pastor who recently moved here from Houston.  He was really genuine and kind and easy to talk to, which I was thankful for since Chettles was busy mingling with all the others who came by. lol

A quick selfie to prove I was there. lol

Last night, Sarah and Steve had me over for dinner - she made cheesy chicken enchilada soup, which was tasty and reminiscent of Applewoods' cheese soup!  ...It made me happy to see this on her door (the wreath Rach made me a couple years back).  I'm just using chalkboards now since my wreaths kept getting birds' nests in them!

Sarah and I both bought the same chalkboard, and she asked me to write on hers right as I was about to leave.  She only had a white marker, but it was still fun to decorate it!  All my creative energy has gone into writing lately, but I do like projects like this too. =)

She gave me a "ZipFizz" to try before my run today, and it was pretty good, especially for being the "pink grapefruit" flavor (she assured me she hates grapefruits but likes that, so I felt better about trying it)! =)

This = Monday night's run.  No hills, but it was super cold outside, and my water bottle was leaking and sloshing water all over my sleeve. lol

Other than that, our trial this week went away - huzzah!!  So I've been busy writing the first draft of my book, which has been cathartic and fun and good for me.  I'm feeling excited about the whole process of writing + editing + proofing + finally seeing it in print, whether or not it ever has many readers.  It will be a memoir with pieces of my life story and the lessons God has taught me thus far, (getting permission from anyone I name directly).  I have outlined 48 essay chapters... 17 down, 31 to go!!  I'm currently leaning toward The Faithfulness of God for the title, since I'm seeing it as a recurring theme in my writing, which makes me really happy.  Having the first draft completed by December is my goal, but that may be overly ambitious.  We shall see! =)

Photo Friday!

Yay, 15-30 group! =)
This = Me, Brenda, Christina, Barbara, and Liz

On Wednesday night, we did big hills for the first time, and they were ROUGH!  It was the first time I've been the slowest person in the group, but I still left feeling proud of myself and glad I showed up! =)  (We're having to wear lights now that clip to our clothing, front and back, to make sure cars can see us.  I'm not looking forward to the time change, mostly because I know it will make this more difficult.)

I may have thrown this into a Words of Wisdom post already - I can't remember.  But I like it.  I think it's important to remember we have an influence and a voice, that our words and thoughts and energy have power and affect the lives of others!

Another good reminder. ❤

That's all I have for this lovely Friday!! =)
Have a fantastic weekend!

Monday Fun-Day

A very short CHA Homecoming 2018 video!! =)

The Jaceman is sometimes a hot mess! lol  He has a new habit of cracking his knuckles when he feels a lil' nervous, which is funny to me because it makes him look like he has ALL the confidence and swagger!!  I mean, he's not a shrinking violet or anything, but sometimes he gets kinda nervous... I cringed when I saw his hands in this pic - it just looks painful!

He was in the CHA pep assembly for being in Homecoming... I'm impressed with his ability to jump right in and hang out with the older kids! lol

Around this time last year, he gave me the "gift giraffe" and told me, "You can show it to your mom if you have one," while we were both sitting with her in the car. lolol

Apparently, he's still slightly confused or forgetful about the family connections.  This happened when Dad took him to the OSU game on Saturday:

I'd love to know what he was doing here. lol  Also, I'd love to know what they were thinking not giving him a pillow to carry the crown on... everyone was so worried he was gonna accidentally pull it apart!

He stayed the night with Mamaw that night (I was there for the night also).  Here he is in his Incredibles PJ bottoms and the T-shirt Rach made him... I was caught off guard when I read Class of '31.  How crazy is it to think about that!?  I hope blogger is still around then. =)

Happy Birthday (yesterday) to JEM, who spent his birthday morning running the Chicago Marathon!!  Congrats, Jeffrey!  And thanks for being a wonderful friend!!
Here's a happy pic from a Sam n' Ella's trip for his bday a couple years ago! =)

Huzzah, my DVDs are finally back in their place, and I ❤ this cabinet even more now than I did before!

My movies, all alphabetized and ready to go. lol

Also... remember when I said I'd ordered a dress similar to the one Rach wore at Jayme's wedding?  I ordered it over a month ago, and when it came, I was surprised to realize it was actually the EXACT SAME dress!  I texted Rach this pic and told her I'll only wear it in Tulsa. lol  Hooray for online shopping at Tara Lynn's Boutique!  (I have to get both my dresses hemmed soon so I won't be stepping on them all over the place, but other than that, I'm really happy with them.)

Finally, I'm gonna sound like Mom saying this, but I'm so sick of Hollywood right now.  The critics who snub and ignore fantastic original movies like The Greatest Showman, movies that are incredibly well done and bring life and joy and hope to millions of people.  Then they flip out and fawn over the third remake of movies like A Star is Born that are strange and melancholy and depressing.  Throw in drug addiction and suicide, and you'll be an Oscar contender for sure.  When the fruit of the movies is life and light vs. death and darkness, the latter always wins in Hollywood, and I just find that irritating and truly sad!  ...I'm also sick of seeing scary movie previews, and personally, I find it revolting when Christians embrace them.  Like, it's an immediate no for me if a guy on eHarmony lists scary movies among his favorites.  Hard pass.  I shan't be inviting fear into my home or my life or the hearts and minds of my future adopted children; not now, not ever.

Mmkay, anyway, hooray for Columbus and for having today off work to sleep in and write!! =)
Happy Monday, gang!  Make it a great week ahead! ❤
