Rainy Monday

Happy Monday... it's actually rather dreary and rainy and very cold outside today, but I'm still feeling peaceful and happy, so yay for that!  This is my new favorite long-sleeved t-shirt!  It's comfy and cute and it reminds me of God's faithfulness and of the Haller family's faith in Him, and to keep praying for Rye's healing and wholeness! #prayforryeguy

Okay, so the following pictures are in exactly reverse chronological order because the new blogger is sub-par.  But we'll just go with it because I'm not willing to delete and then re-upload them all.  This was a FB post I saw to remind us of the importance of small steps... I saved it because it's encouraging.  I've taken TONS of small steps lately - the Personal Development School classes, downloading the MinimaList app, changing my routine to get up early to workout, committing to 70 minutes a day with 20 of that being strength training, buying healthier foods, making protein shakes, and choosing soups and salads at restaurants... I haven't seen drastic results yet, but it's consistency in these small steps that will make all the difference.  And not trying to do more than I'm capable of too fast - just taking it one baby step at a time!  #WhatAboutBob

Christmasy restorative yoga classes are my favorite! lol  I love the ambiance of this room with the white tree lit at night!

Jaceman doing some eye therapy work... part of the 45 minutes a day is 30 minutes of watching TV with certain lenses on, so that's a big plus!

When he "shuts off" one eye, it causes the red and green squares to black out, and Mom just sits with him and writes down how many "blackouts" he reports to her.  Interesting!

Saturday was the 7th birthday (crazy) of the best girlfranz in the world!!  I was hoping to go see them, but Mom signed us up for extra time with the kids so that didn't work out.  I will absolutely make it happen next time.

Me with T-man and Jace watching Kyndal's volleyball game (Carter was with a friend that day)!

The Miss K getting ready to serve it... she got 5 serves over in a row! #winning #theyactuallylostbutnoonecares

The car ride to the VB game...the only thing that would make this pic better would be Rachael wearing her seatbelt!

Her cute earrings to cheer on K-Faith!

Kyndal was excited to see them!

Me and the Mini Miss!

How cute is she in her volleyball uniform!?

Rach and Kyndal

A portrait photo... maybe I should use that more often!

Before the game, I went to see everything they've done lately at Rach's new house, including painting the front door, the kitchen, the stairway, and Kyndal's room, putting up glitter wallpaper, the photo wall, finishing up T and K's rooms, and Rach making the amazing signs below...

Both are super impressive, and I know J&K will love them!  T didn't want one, but she's working on Carter's now.

Nothing says fall like tasty taco soup!  I'm still very impressed that this recipe is actually healthy as well as tasty.  The added sharp cheddar cheese makes it slightly less healthy, but when my day is this and protein shakes, I feel pretty great about my choices!

Happy Fall, y'all! ❤

A verse that's been on my heart and on God's heart for me lately!

A protein shake with spinach, frozen fruit, PB2, coconut milk, and protein powder!  "Nom nom for us, David!" lol

JB is now cancer free... and that is definitely something to celebrate!!

That's all for today!  Hope you're having a lovely day if or whenever you finally read this. ❤

Photos Galore!

Happy news - Netflix released Season 6 of Schitt's Creek earlier than expected, so I've now finished the series... so fun!!

Okay, so this post is just a full photo update with captions:

I found this pic of Jace and Grandad from early March 2019 in Mom's Google Photos and thought it was poignant and beautiful. ❤

I cropped lots of pics for Rach's new photo wall, and in the process, I decided to update my own wall with a few new pics, as well! =)

Rach's new black and white 5x5 photo wall... the exact same number of pics as mine (231)! =)

Mom came over and helped me decorate for Christmas last weekend!

Our timeline gets a little more ridiculous with each passing year, but I'm not sad about it. =)

The rest of my Christmas decor... we discovered that Command Hooks work for the beads and hanging the ornament wreath on the fireplace, and that was delightful news!

All the countertop stuff pops off the white and gray really nicely. =)

Yay, this all makes me happy!!

Me and Kelly presenting the yucca plant (JEM planted it 10 years ago and it bloomed for the first time on his 40th birthday).

Gardener JEM with his black eyed peas

A 2020 selfie with the Moss fam!

We had Pei Wei for an al fresco dinner on their back deck + Merritts cupcakes for Jeffrey's birthday!

I got to see the book Kelly made for him... how cool is this cover!?

My pics and letter...

JEM with his 7-foot-tall okra plant!

Mrs. Gentry asked about how we did the photo walls, and since I want a record of it, I'm posting it here too.  (We put the glue in a square around the edge of each pic.)

Peloton is doing a Hamilton series, and I took the live ride with Robin (and around 25,000 others) yesterday!  Fun times!

Just saving this pic as a costume idea for MFC (my future child).  Simple and cute is always a good plan in my book!

Splash Mountain memories from our Disney trip in October of 2015!

Finally, on October 3rd (also known as Mean Girls Day), I hit 7's across the board on my Peloton workouts... made me happy!

That's all I've got for today!

Happy Tuesday!

Hey, friends!  I'm guessing some of you will eventually read this when I open the blog back up, so I'm still writing as if you're here. =)

I broke my self-imposed rule about not buying anything from FB ads until Black Friday, but how great is my new hoodie!?  (Rose Apothecary is David's store on Schitt's Creek.)

Probably the line I quote most often, anytime I bake something tasty now.  And Rach is as annoyed by it as David! lolol

Over the past month, I've taken several classes through Thais Gibson's Personal Development School... soooo good and helpful.  I love this stuff!

She has a lot to say about the meaning we assign to things and the stories we tell ourselves -- she says the most important question to ask after a trauma or even just feeling insulted is "What did I make this event or comment mean
about me?"  That's how we discover our core wounds and limiting beliefs.  And it really is helpful.  Then we can reprogram them through repetition + emotion.  (Her free YouTube videos are also super helpful.)

Some encouragement from CFC that could apply to food or any area of life.

I had Wednesday through Friday off work last week, so I went to MWC and helped paint the boys rooms at Rachael's new house!  (Josh has moved to his apartment now, but he wanted to come paint Kyndal's room, so we skipped that one.)  Anyway, these two pics = Mom and I trying tons of paint samples to see what would look good in Triston's room!

Rach and Mom and I taped off the wall and painted the geometric shapes... she climbed the ladder barefoot or in flip-flops so many times over Thursday and Friday -- yikes!  My feet would die.  Anyway, this navy blue paint was a biatch - so streaky and thin and took several coats...

But the finished product was worth it... T-man was a big fan of his new wall, bedding, desk, and (coming soon) curtains!

J&K wanted to help the minute they got back from Mamaw's... that was interesting times! lol

Jace and Carter have a loft room upstairs with fun slanty walls that I love... we painted an orange wall for Carter and a blue wall for Jace, as well as painting all the other walls AND THE CEILING gray.  It was quite the process!

Kudos to Mom and Rach for their ceiling work - that's my least favorite thing to paint!!

On Saturday, I met Elizabeth for an al fresco lunch at The Mule in Edmond.  I had the "Big-Ass Grilled Cheese" and fried okra - no regrets!  That whole street was cute and reminiscent of Main Street in Broken Arrow.  We were across the street from a cafe with good cinnamon rolls, which we got to go! #winning

Sunday was a lot of resting and watching Season 6 of Schitt's Creek!  Yesterday was work + lunch with Sarah... my front passenger tire had a slow leak caused by a screw, so she offered to fill it up so I could make it to Tulsa Hills safely after work... yay, Sarah Elizabeth!!  Getting a new tire put on after work today.

Mom texted me this pic of the Miss K's room... a presh room for a preshface!  K and T have their own rooms there, and Jace will anytime T&C are at Brooke's.  It's a really nice setup with a huge backyard and fort for them, and I'm happy the kids seem to be doing well there!!

In honor of JEM's birthday eve today, here's this 2012 flashback to my collage of him being a mentor to J-Biebs! lol
