“Um, keep in mind that he was already probably 20 when the spell was cast, and it wasn’t his 21st year, just the 21st year of the spell. I’m pretty sure his actual age was suspended because he came back right where he left off… Obviously I’ve put some thought into this.” ~Malori :)

Thankful Thursday (33)

"Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks."  ~I Timothy 4:4

Today, I thank God for...

1.  God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, salvation, God's Word, His presence, and His plan!
2.  Family... my parents, my sister and her new family, my grandparents, and all my aunts, uncles, cousins.  Love them all!

3.  Friends... for Malori and Laura, and the whole Lifegroup and my BattleCreek girls!!
4.  My house and my car! :)
5.  My pictures and scrapbooks and facebook albums... and all the great memories they hold!
6.  Hope and Love and Peace and Joy, and people that make me laugh!
7.  Beauty and Art and Creativity and Music!!  ...and winter and cute puppies. :)
* Read this on FB and it made me think:  "What if you woke up this morning with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?"  (That's why this week's list is more vague than normal.)

Song of the Week = American Pie by Don McLean
One of two 8+ minute songs that I have completely memorized. :)  The other being Rapper's Delight. lol

Love that overthrows life

“I will have poetry in my life.  And adventure.  And love.  Love above all!  No, not the artful postures of love, not playful and poetical games of love for the amusement of an evening.  But love that overthrows life -- unbiddable, ungovernable, like a riot in the heart, and nothing to be done, come ruin or rapture.  Love like there has never been in a play.” ~Shakespeare in Love
Just in case you missed it in the longer post, this is my favorite love quote at the moment.  I adore it.  (I have never seen Shakespeare in Love, but I'm picturing Gwyneth saying this line in her perfect British accent, with as much passion as possible!) Probably best not to see the movie and ruin that.

MM ~ Super Bowl Party

Today's random memory is the (I think 2010) Super Bowl Party at Mom and Dad's house!!
(*Dad is in a Fantasy Football thing with Bill, Bill, and Rick... and whoever wins hosts the Super Bowl Party, so apparently, he won that year.  Yay, Dad! lol)

These parties are always fun and full of pizza and great desserts... while I could care less about football, I do enjoy watching sports with people who reeeeally care about it, especially when the crowd is divided and equally passionate! :)  And obviously, the new Super Bowl commercials are what I'm most interested in!  Danielle came over that night, and since me, Rach, and Danielle were the only "kids" at the party, we had a lot of fun! :)

First, we stopped by State Farm... probably for the cookies, I don't really remember... and got a pic with the giant Good Neigh-Bear! =)

Next, Danielle gave us manicures! :)

Then we debated whether the Jesus painting looked like Jesus or Nicolas Cage! lol

Our Heisman pose! lol  Love this! =)

Umm, I don't even know. lol
*I love that glittery black hoodie, though... I'm excited to lose weight and for winter to roll back around so I can wear it again! :)

And finally, Rick presenting Dad with his trophy during half-time! :)

Thankful Thursday (32)

"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving THANKS to God the Father through Him."  ~Colossians 3:17

Today, I'm thankful for...

1.  JESUS CHRIST!!!!  For who He is, for what He's done, and for how He loves me!
2.  Getting to celebrate Chet's birthday this week... twice! lol
3.  A great, deep talk with Sarah and Natalie (after everyone else left).
4.  Having three days to catch up, then two days off work this week! Love it!!
5.  Painting fun with Mom and JB all day today and tomorrow. :)
6.  Remember when I said life could slow down a bit now?  Yeah, just kidding about that.  Rachael is pregnant!  JB bought this shirt for the baby (to be from me), so now it has double meaning. lol
7.   Pizza... which I'm about to have for dinner! =)

Song of the Week = Someone to Save You by One Republic
LOVE it, love the lyrics.  "Patience took you for everything.  Looked like a diamond ring, but you waited so much longer than made sense... Honesty is what you need, it sets you free like someone to save you."

MM ~ Parasailing!

Today's Memory Monday is parasailing in Daytona Beach, Florida!!

Rach and I were there on a family vacation with Grandad, Babah, JB, Emily, and Blake... beautiful beach location, and we had a fun hotel suite where Rach and I had our own room (thank God!).  After our mac n' cheese dinners, we took walks on the beach every night and saw the fliers for the "Parasailing and Free Banana Boat Ride!"  Justin Kunz, our awesome friend from CHA days, was living in Florida at that point, so he met up with us for dinner one night and came out with us for parasailing the next morning! =)

I still remember that Sean Paul and Sasha's obnoxious song, "I'm Still in Love with You, Boy" was playing from the boat! lol  Parasailing was fun and not at all scary.  Going with Justin was fun (he did a round with me, Rach, and Blake, I believe!) and the view was gorgeous.  The worst part was being tossed back and forth by the waves in the short boat ride out.  We did the free Banana Boat ride later that day, which was our biggest mistake of the trip!  The whole point was to shake you up and toss you off the boat in the middle of the (massive and overwhelming and full of scary jellyfish and sharks) ocean, then you swim for it and get back on, then it happens again and again.  NOT my idea of fun, and certainly not Emily's, who was young and crying and scared to death at that point.  I do remember that Rach's leg was cut and bleeding, so she insisted on getting back on first since sharks can smell blood! Haha  Funny looking back... not so funny that day.  Anyway, hooray for fun family vacations and for Justin Kunz and Daytona Beach and parasailing fun!!

Thankful Thursday!! (31)

"Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.  Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with JOY."  ~Philippians 1:3,4

Today, I am most thankful for...

1.  FRIENDS!!  No, not just the TV show ;) but for each of my awesome Christian friends -  the above verse applies... I'm thankful for the support and encouragement and love, and for the fun of "doing life together!'  =)
2.  My cute little nephews, Triston and Carter... that feels strange to say, but yes, I'm officially an Aunt now! :)  I just love their personalities and their excitement over every little thing...
"What's so great about bubbles?"
"Well, they float, you can pop 'em...  I mean, I get it!"
P.S.  The top hat thing was not even a posed candid.  He just put it on for fun and was standing like that because he was hot. lol
3.  That I'm not sick and haven't been sick for a long time! :)  (I thought of that only because Bobbi joked about me being sick on FB, and I've had caring friends ask how I'm doing. lol)
4.  Wedding cake... specifically, the chocolate groom's cake with chocolate-covered strawberries!  :)
5.  I'm thankful (A) for all the fun moments and great pics from Rach's wedding, (B) that Rach and Josh are married, and (C) that it's over and life can slow down a bit now! lol
6.  Takeout food + pool time at Natalie's apartment = a fun, relaxing Saturday night with Malori and Natalie... and our new friend, "T," who deserves her own quotables page sometime soon!
7.  For Mom coming to town just to help me reorganize my closets and get the house all ready for Brittany... who is moving in next week!  :)  GIGATT!!

Song of the Week = This Time by Carrie Underwood
"I wanna tell you that my heart is bursting at the seams, yeah, and I can't wait another minute...  Oh, life is short, love is sweet!  Ain't no time like this time, baby."
