I wrote this little poem in May of 1995. (If you're tempted to judge the quality, please keep in mind that I was in 5th Grade that year.)
The last two lines are still my favorite...
I cannot imagine for I did not see
How tragic and frightening the bomb blast would be...
How scary to see the windows fly out,
How painful the sorrow, the worry, the doubt.
How grateful for workers that rescued someone
And risked their own lives to repair what was done.
It would be very painful if a loved one was killed,
But peaceful to know that in heaven, they'd be healed.
Who would do such a thing, I cannot decide.
As the President said, they can run but can't hide.
As I pray for the people that are in so much pain,
I watch America pull together again.
In spite of it all, it is helpful to know
That God's on the throne and He's still in control.
