15-Minute Friday!!

Introducing 15-Minute Friday -- where I write as many random things as I can think of for 15 minutes, then I'm done.  It's really supposed to be 5 minutes, but I'm changing mine because I'm usually not a fast thinker.  And I may go over the time to add pictures at the end of it, but I'll only write during that period, so whatevs. :)

Timer starting NOW!!
  • I want a love story like the one in While You Were Sleeping - they literally never went on one date.  They were good friends, they fell in love over a few great moments in their friendship, they realized they were in love, and then he proposed.  Bring it - done and done.  Love it.  Love that movie!  So Christmasy.
  • (We watched it at the women's LG Christmas party this Tuesday - pic #1 below.)  We all wore pajamas, decorated sugar cookies, and brought fun Christmas foods.  Tiffany made cutouts of the girls who weren't there, which I thought was really cute and thoughtful!  I made Oreo balls, which I hadn't done in a while - and I added Reeses PB chips to the chocolate this time - yum!!
  • I go to OKC tomorrow after work. :) When I get back to my house, I'll have two puppies -YAY, and I'll be taking Christmas stuff down.
  • I've gotten into Modern Family again with the reruns on USA.  I also got Rach hooked on it - you're welcome, Rach! :)  We text each other quotes back and forth, and it makes me happy.  I really want a Phil's-osophy book!
  • I have literally been stood up twice by female friends who forgot we had plans after I text them earlier that day to remind them.  Both assured me that they were "so looking forward to seeing me."  To quote Jeff and Chettles, "Mmmmmhmm!" lol
  • I got my hair done today - the red's too bright, but it'll fade and be perfect at Christmas.  I love getting my scalp massaged when they wash my hair!  I also love the "complimentary hand massages" at Ihloff! :)
  • "You're gonna have some bomb hair for Christmas!"  ~Kelsey, my stylist lol  That comment made me laugh and think of Rach!  It's funny how people have their own lingo and don't realize how strange it sounds when others hear it.
  • The other day, when Kate came over for a bit to Rach's house, they were talking about an old friend and Rach said, "Oh yeah, y'all have been homies for a minute, huh!?"  Me and Kate laughed about that for a while and Rach was confused why it was so funny. :)
  • I realized something whilst pretending to be asleep as I got my hair done today -- (it exhausts me to small talk for 2.5 hours - not happening) -- but I realized that I see New Year's Eve and my birthday as days that "set the tone" for the entire year ahead.  It's not intentional exactly, but it's how I tend to think of them.  What I do, who I'm with, how I'm treated, how I feel - if it's good, the year will be good -- if not, then look out!  I hadn't put it together until today how much pressure I put on those days.
  • Then I realized how stupid and silly that is - to give other people that much control over my thought life and expectations, and to give Satan such an obvious target by putting that much emphasis on one day.  It's a hell of a lot of pressure to put on something I have no control over.
  • So this year, I'm setting the tone!  Even if New Year's Eve sucks, I'm deciding that 2014 will be great!  And I'm going to try to "set the tone" spiritually rather than in friendships.  To start the year off on a good note with God, putting Him first!
  • Random woman at my work (crizazy pro se girl that is always entertaining) quoted me a lengthy poem from memory this week.  Weirdest thing ever!  She talked to me for 30 minutes about the details of her case, then said that I'm "so nice for listening," then asked when my birthday is.  That was weird, but I told her, to which she said, "Oh, you're an Aquarian.  Aquarians are one of my very favorites!  Would you like to hear my poem about Aquarians?"  I felt like Jim talking to Dwight when I said, "Absolutely." :)
  • In other courtroom news, recently an attorney asked a witness where she was at the time such-and-such happened, and she answered:  "We were in my bedroom having a threesome."  ...The last answer I ever expected.  She was completely serious and said it so very casually.  I nearly lost it on that one, especially as the attorney tried to eloquently recover and move on!
  • I'm into Sweet Tea lately, but I have to stop drinking my calories!  That shan't be happening in 2014!
  • I like the word "shant."  Makes me think of the snobby girl in Devil Wears Prada.
  • I miss the Missy K!  I keep watching videos of her on my phone.  I can't wait to see her tomorrow! =)
  • I wanna go see Frozen!  I'm hearing great things, that it's like the Disney movies I loved as a kid. :)
  • I really wish things had worked out for me to go to my graduation!  Stupid icy roads!!  Dad even gave away his suite tickets to the Bedlam game, which meant a lot to me that he cared that much.  So many people were lined up to come, but it's probably for the best that we all stayed home.
  • I'm even more thankful now that Laura threw me a lovely impromptu graduation party in June!!  =)  (Pic #2 below)
  • I love that last weekend as she was getting ready for the Lemieux' Christmas Party, Mom text me a picture of the chocolate cake batter saying "Wish you were here."  I did too! :)  (Pic #3 below)
