Photo Friday!!

My last few posts have been more serious, then I meant to write a Thankful Thursday post yesterday, but never got to it.  So here's a quick post to catch up on day-to-day life events! ;-)

Chet's "Muffins and Monograms" brunch event at the mansion house he has listed.  Merritt's muffins and donuts + OJ and mimosas + awkward wall art + rehashing our Disney trip with the Fosters and Chet's mom + JEM giving us a tour = fun times!! :)

This was scary, guys... my Total Eclipse dictionary stopped working for a bit, so when I translated my notes for a case, it was almost all just the steno.  #yikes  Not okay!!  I was unable to open my dictionary, then worried that I somehow accidentally deleted it, (which is hard to explain, but it would be a really big deal). I tried for a few hours to fix it, then was freaking out on the phone with mom and she suggested trying the System Restore thing where you reset your computer to the settings from an earlier date.  Took less than 5 minutes and worked like a charm, thank God!  Mom for the win!! :)

Just a quote I saw on Facebook and deemed worthy of saving on my phone.

After over a year of searching, I FINALLY found my stupid badge... in a crevice between my seat and console in my car!  I dropped my Reasors Rewards card down there, so I was digging around to find it and was shocked when I pulled this out.  (They've already deactivated it and given me a new one, so it's basically pointless now, but still felt good to finally find it.) :)

Aww, memories... this is the Jaceman sitting in the laundry room sink, reacting with raised eyebrows and a very confused face to Mamaw telling him "No." lol

Chet Lee's love for horses (and horse-themed movies) makes me laugh!  This was "Western Night" for the youth at Fellowship Church, and Chet came early to ride the horse. :)

A hilarious candid during our $2 dinner before Impact class - love it!  I think Jeff was talking about his diet and losing weight, and Chet was not having it. lol

A random closeup of Olaf! lol  (Texting back and forth with Rach about wreath ideas and drawing snowmen.)

A very random sighting of Jubal Lee and Amanda from The Voice... she seemed really excited that I wanted a picture, then I felt bad for not staying longer. lol

My first trip to Genghis Grill - meh.  The food was good in the end, but I don't love seeing the raw meat and all the following utensils touching it.

Debbie Wallace in her clown costume... seeing this on FB made me laugh out loud! :)

The presh girlfranz on their 2nd birthday - ahh, the teen years!  Since 7 dog years = 1 human year, on their next birthday, they'll be 21... so I feel like that's a legit excuse for a Vegas trip! :-)

TK and Sarah dancing it up at the Caravan!  This may begin round 2 of the Caravan trend... we'll see!  The smoky smell is not my fav, but I'd forgotten how much I love to dance!!

Terrible lighting for this pic of the Wilsons with Heath and Shea.

Carter was very excited to show me his "house" inside my parents' unfinished house! lol

Jaceman was excited to push Carter out of the way and look out the window, but he can never hold a posed smile for more than half a second! lol

I drove down to make one last trip to Harry Bear's with Mom, Dad, Charlene, Georgia, and Alan before they close down forever... our family used to go there a lot... ahhh, nachos and grilled cheese and baby shakes!

We keep it simple. Our version of nachos there = chips smothered in cheese. lol

The baby shake wasn't as big as I remember. lol

Sadly, it was fairly clear why they were going out of business... they were out of 3 things we asked about, it was a 45 minute wait for our food, then they closed at 8pm with a sign saying they're "Out of Food!" lol

Seeing this on FB made me happy. =)

A lovely pink and orange sunset (last Saturday, pre-Caravan).

My new tall boots that I've worn with both tapered jeans and leggings -- look at all the new things I'm embracing!!  I text Rach 5 or 6 pictures at the store and told her I needed her advice since she generally gives a crap about fashion! lol  I'm glad one of us does!

A card I got for Lindsay this week.  I'm thankful for God's grace, and praying that it covers them now!

This put that stupid song in my head, but it made me laugh, so it's okay! ;)

Sarah and I at a memorable book party last night (her mom is selling Usborn children's books - I'm gonna order some for the nephews and niece).  Tonight, I'm going to Sarah's again for dinner, then the Caravan, then possibly a late movie! Happy Friday!!

Words of Wisdom Wednesday ~ (Matt Chandler)

"Regardless of your situation, you have not been abandoned. There are no secrets... God knows every detail of your life. And He has not abandoned you."

"Christ lived in a physical body in a physical world... His family thought He was crazy. Anybody got family strife? Jesus understands family strife! The Bible says that Jesus wept at the death of His friend. Have you lost a friend? Jesus was lied about, betrayed by a close friend. He physically suffered. The Bible says that we have an empathetic High Priest. Not only have you not been abandoned, but our God understands you. He put on flesh and dwelt among us. We have an empathetic High Priest who is compassionate toward our losses, toward our sorrows, toward our pain!"

"We are not yet what we will be. We are all in process, in various stages of fruitfulness... And if that's true - if I'm not there yet and you're not there yet and other people are not there yet, doesn't that make sense that there will be conflict that needs to be worked out? And shouldn't that make us all the more gracious toward one another? ...It is a good, godly discipline for you to watch your mind concerning other Christians. If you are meditating on their weaknesses, you are sinning against God and you are sinning against them. It is an evil thing for you to be an expert in the weaknesses of your brothers and sisters. The discipline God has called us to is to be an expert in the strengths of our brothers and sisters, especially those who get on our last nerve. It becomes hard to disdain the one you can see the work of God in.... And think about it: how frustrating would it be for you to know that someone out there is just meditating on your weaknesses? No awareness of what you do well, no awareness of how you sacrifice, how you serve, what you long for and desire. There is no thought of that at all; just meditating on your weaknesses. That's wicked; it's evil. And there is no place for that in the household of faith."

"In group life and community life, you'll be surprised at how often it is your weaknesses that encourage and stir up faith in your brothers and sisters. Push past the veneer and counsel one another not just with our strengths but with our weaknesses."

Top 10 Thursday

We're waiting on a verdict in a Jury Trial that's been heavy and tough, so I'm in the mood to zone out and reminisce about happy childhood fun!  Ahh, Blockbuster Video nights! #memories  Not sure how to label this list... we'll go with Top 10 Non-Animated Cheesy Movies from my Childhood that I Miss. lol  Plus a favorite memorable quote or two from each.  Here goes...

1.  Troop Beverly Hills  -- Fun and good times!!  Diva-mode Beverly Hills girls who generally hate the outdoors compete in cookie sales and fashion shows, then eventually brave the "Wilderness Jamboree" - good times!  "It's missing a bead!"  "We're the girls from Beverly Hills! 1-2-3-4. Shopping is our greatest skill!  5-6-7-8!"  "I am the log; I am the ravine!"  "A box of them would be so nice - buy some! Cheap at even twice the price - try some!  Cookie time, cookie time, cookie time!!"

2.  It Takes Two -- Girls from different families who just happen to be identical pull a parent trap style prank to get two adults together.  Gosh, I loved this movie, and it was terribly cheesy!  "Little Betty Butkiss!"  "Are you asking me equestrian?"  "I've got spurs that jingle, jingle, jangle!"

3.  Big Business -- Bette and Lily play twins mixed up at birth who randomly meet much later in life... so many hilarious things about this movie!  I must see it again soon, but it's not exactly out to rent at Redbox. :(  "Got on my Tuesday panties, but I bet you know that, too!"

4.  The Money Pit -- Young couple buys a fixer-upper house that turns out to be a complete disaster.  Tom Hanks laughing uncontrollably when their bathtub falls through the second floor = hilarious!  "Two weeks!"  "I'd love to help you out, but somebody stepped-ed on my fingers!"

5.  Honey, I Shrunk The Kids -- Scientist dad accidentally shrinks his kids (and the neighbor kids), then they have to survive the wild backyard.  Good times!

6.  What About Bob? -- Guy who has an OCD disorder and a million irrational fears becomes attached to his psychiatrist and joins their family vacation.  "I sail!  I'm a sailor now.  AHOY!"  "Baby steps get on the bus." "Hi. I'm Bob.  Will you knock me out!?"  "Doctor!! Leo!! Marvin!!!"  "It was a disaster, Faye!"

7.  The Mighty Ducks -- Gordon Bombay coaches kids in hockey, and they learn that fun is more important than winning.  And the whole flying V thing.  "Quack, quack, quack, quack, Mr. Ducksworth!"

8.  Free Willy -- Orphan boy and orphan whale become friends, and boy helps whale escape ridiculous people and find his family again!  "Shalana, I-oom, I-asis!" lol

9.  Angels in the Outfield -- Tiny precious Joseph Gordon Levitt sees angels helping the team, which includes Matthew McConaughey and Adrien Brody! #random I heart the scene at the end when the whole crowd stands up and flaps their wings. lol  Good old fashioned cheesiness!

10.  Yours, Mine, & Ours (the 1968 version with Lucille Ball) --  Such a fun movie about a widow and widower who both have several kids getting together and having one that's both of theirs. Fun movie - it used to seem like a great, fun idea to have so many people living all together - now, it sounds kind of awful.  I do remember laughing really hard at the scene where his boys purposely get her drunk to make her look stupid at dinner.

There are several childhood favorites that I still love and watch semi-regularly... like Father of the Bride, While You Were Sleeping, Big, Speed, Clueless, Sister Act 1 & 2, etc.  Then there are other cheesy movies that I don't really miss, like A Very Brady Christmas where Mike gets trapped underground then Carol and fam sing Christmas carols. lol  Rach loved to rent that one back in the day! Anyway, we're still waiting on a verdict, and I'm not at all happy about that but can't post any details here.  I'm off to talk to Laura again for a while!

Hope you're having a happier Thursday! =)

Photo Friday!

Just a few random pics from my iphone...
Drinks courtesy of JEM... a coffee/hot chocolate toast with Chet, JEM, and Kelly at Shades of Brown on Wednesday! :)

Pita bread and hummus appetizer... I got cracked up by the amount of pita bread we got - one piece per person - thanks, Zoe's Kitchen! lol

Happy Boss's Day to my Dad, and to anyone else who's a boss!  ...Or to those who are just living life "like a boss." lol  Whatever - any reason to celebrate will do!

My happy new CR machine... after 11 years, it was time for an upgrade!  It's much nicer, and was a really good deal. =)

The Jaceman hanging out in my car for a minute, going back and forth to the back to see my puppies, and pressing every button he could find!  (This was when Mom and I met at the halfway McDonald's to exchange the girlfranz.)

T-Swift and her cat.  Her caption here just made me laugh! :)
...Thanks to T-Swift and to Lucy and Pippa Wilson, cats are growing on me. :)

Random, but kinda funny.  This = a stupid Facebook quiz about finding your mental age based on your personality.  Chet's was 21, Rachael's was 16, and mine was 90, the oldest of all the Myers-Briggs types. Grrrreat.  Perhaps this explains why I'm so unfazed by the idea of dying. lol

And finally, a super old-school pic from early CHA days... Bill Russell, Kathleen McNeil (upside down), Josh Shirley?, Heather Tipton, Rachael, Me (half covered by the swing) - thanks, Rach! ;) - notice our coordinating red and blue shirts and pants with white sweaters with our names on them - we were nothing if not super-cool ...and patriotic lol), and Tiffany Wilson!
