Happy one-week-till-Christmas and two-weeks-till-2018 Monday!! =)
(See, sometimes my math is correct. lol)
Last Tuesday, the LG ladies had dinner at Main Street Tavern in Broken Arrow. 'Twas my first time eating there, and it was really good! Also, I'm a fan of the BA Main Street atmosphere, especially here at Christmas time! =) They had fun Christmas music going and had all the trees lit up, and I just wanted to sit on a bench and people watch and take it all in! lol
Thursday, I got to leave early and go to MWC to see the CHA Christmas program!
Look at all the Parrish fam cuteness!! =)
T-man's class did the cheesy Christmas play this year (he's in the colorful robe with the turquoise sash) -- their microphones were struggling, so he had to yell a few of his lines, but he did awesome! Jace and Carter Lee sang some fun songs! That bottom right pic = Jace with his "book buddy," a sixth grader named Josh, who's been really great and nice to him, and the Jaceman is a FAN!! lol He went over and hugged him several times before we left. =)
Since she's the only one of us with a fully decorated house this year, Rach has been hosting lots of Christmas parties this season! She did a come-and-go thing for the CHA moms, then they're hosting a LifeChurch staff breakfast today, and she's got another scavenger hunt party for the boys' classes on Thursday!! They made these super-cute candy sleds for that! =)
Big news - Jace Michael lost his first tooth recently! lol
Random me-being-ridiculous sidenote: Whenever I see pics of her, in my head, I sing (to the tune of the We Are Farmers, bum-badum-bum-bum-bum-bum jingle) "Who is precious!? It's the Mini Missa-K!!" ❤
I cooked Rach's lasagna rolls recipe and had them through the week last week - yum! Also, JEM and Kelly hosted a Convivial Cozy Christmas party on Friday night!! Over 40 people came, and I got to talk to lots of friends and people I hadn't seen in a while! It was fun times and lots of great food. And they had Naughty and Nice punch, which cracked me up! =) I had to take a pic of the J,K,P stockings (for Jeff, Kelly, and Penny, but it also made me think of Jace and Kyndal Parrish). lol After we left the party, Tiffany and I caught a late showing of the new Star Wars movie, so that was fun! I don't know a ton about the Star Wars world, but I really like Rey and there were a couple of intense scenes that I loved! =)
Saturday, we celebrated the birthday of Tall Kyle! =) Sarah invited us to go X-Treme Racing, and I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it was all indoors. Me, Kelly, Karli, and JEM watched from the sidelines (Jeff hurt his back recently and didn't wanna further injure it, so I'm praying that gets better soon!). In their first race, Sarah's car stalled and Kyle's car hit her, and she got bad whiplash and had to sit the rest of it out. She had a serious head injury in a car wreck several years back, so she was really shaken up by that memory/worry/fear/dread, a feeling I very much understand. I texted her yesterday, and she is doing much better now, so I'm thankful for that! Aside from that, it was really a fun afternoon and fun to watch people getting competitive! Kyle got 1st place in that first race - me and Karli laughed at that, him naturally being the best at something he's never tried before. Evan got first in another race, and Chet Lee got 2nd twice! So we had them get a pic on the platform together. =)
Happy group pic!!
And here's the Wilsons by the FBC fireplace! Karli's looking super cute and I'm getting excited to meet little Carter/Bennett/Cole/Nora/Meredith Wilson. lol =)
I really enjoyed the sermon at FBC yesterday, so that was encouraging! I got there before the Wilsons, but Heath invited me to sit with their family, which was super nice! Then the FBC choir actually sang Jesus! Oh, What a Wonderful Child, and I laughed thinking of Sarah singing that at the Friday night dinner and that whole convo! ...They're doing a series covering different Christmas carols and hymns, and it was on Hark! The Herald Angels Sing this week. Super ironic, as Chet had just been talking about that song at Jeff's party: "Hey, have you guys ever really paid attention to the words" -- (glances at me: "I know YOU have!") -- "to Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!?" lol He was talking about how great they were, and it's true. Anyway, the sermon was Scripture filled and full of good truths, and Matthew wrapped it up with the simple idea of Adore & Obey (love AND truth, both incredibly important, and one or the other is often missing): "Oh, come let us adore Him... then go, let us obey Him!" ❤
Anywho, that's all I've got for now. It'll probably be hard to focus and get much work done this week, but there's nothing pressing, so that's fine by me. lol
