Thankful Thursday #140

"For you have been rooted in Him
and are being built up and strengthened in the faith,
just as you were taught,
while you continue to be thankful."
~Colossians 2:7

Today, I am thankful for:

1.  Penn and Kim Holderness winning The Amazing Race this season - YAAAAY, so thrilled for them!!  Love their podcast, love their book, love their videos, love who they are as individuals and how they relate to each other, and love this victory for them! ❤  I'll be watching the last episode tonight, but I'm pretty thrilled to already know how it ends. =)

Here is Penn's song-parody recap of their season... they started pre-COVID, were sent home for a long time, and then came back for the win.  For the record, I could never be on this show for so many reasons.  I'd probably be able to man up and do the bungee jump for a million dollars, but there is zeeeero shot that I would eat cheese crawling with maggots.  Kudos to them for perseverance, but that's a hard pass for me!

2.  Cody Rigsby, for making exercise fun with his XOXO rides and ridiculous life advice!

3.  This true and comforting meme, and feeling more peace all around lately.  My life is not off track or moving behind schedule.  God is with me and for me, and I need to stay focused on the path He has for me, not what anyone else is doing or what He has for them!!

4.  This verse, and the fact that even God doesn't expect us to understand why certain things are happening in our earthly lives... just to trust Him and know that eventually, we will see His plan and His heart clearly! ❤

5.  Funny memes (like this gem Rachael sent saying it reminded her of me). lol  I do not ❤ small talk.  And also, I can totally hear Zach Galifianakis saying this in his signature casually awkward delivery. lol

6.  Noom.  And this reminder, which is definitely good news for me when it comes to eating habits and getting healthier!!  Change is hard.  And the wrong thought patterns and habits are very ingrained.  But it's not impossible.  I'm hoping that Noom will be to my eating habits what Peloton has been for my exercise habits, slow and steady persistence and small changes that add up!! =)

7.  My DHS Parenting Class (for certification as a Foster/Adoptive parent in their system) that starts this weekend... I'm curious and excited to start that, and I'm praying that God opens the right doors for me, whether that's a direct adoption or a foster care situation or something else that hasn't occurred to me yet!

Happy Thursday, friends!  I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead. ❤
