Happy Friday, friends! Happy National Donut Day - fun!
Happy Gilmore Girls Day!
And most of all, HAPPY VEGAS DAY!!!
Looking at the above pic makes me happy all on its own... but it makes me happier that I'm headed to see that view in person tonight! Our flight leaves at 9:15 Oklahoma time and arrives there at 9:50 Vegas time... in time to catch a late fountain show and check in at the Paris Hotel across the street and maybe grab some midnight pizza... all ready for our Mon Ami brunch tomorrow morning! YES, please to all of that!!! T-man and I are seeing the Jonas Brothers (I'm listening to their music this morning to prepare - lol) in concert tomorrow night, riding the High Roller (world's tallest Ferris wheel), checking out lots of my usual favorite spots, then we're meeting Dad and Charlene for Maggiano's dinner on Sunday! This trip will include two awesome concerts, a Cirque du Soleil show with great music, whatever fun things and free snacks SF has planned for us, lots of great meals, at least one summer swim, and five days worth of fountain shows! It's my first trip since the pandemic hit, and my 10th Vegas trip in total... I'm so ready and super excited!! ❤
And now, a quick photo catch-up before I go. =)
We had a breakfast for dinner night last week and the kids helped with all the cooking...
Ha, it's ironic that this is the 4th time I'm mentioning breakfast foods in this post. lol I'm such a fan of brunch and breakfast foods... hence, my love of Mon Ami! And here's a happy pic of my Belgian waffle from Cheesecake Factory brunch with Kristin!
A fun snapchat pic of Rach and J, who makes me laugh starting this hand gesture as soon as he saw the $$!
A few gems from Babah's pics... me and Rach and Blake "helping" Grandad carve pumpkins for Halloween, me and Rach with crazy hair after bath time... I like that she has a Mickey shirt and I have "Don't Mess with Texas" (where Mom grew up and still feels state pride for it), and then me and Rach and our cousin Blake playing in boxes! lol I like that Rach is wearing a whale shirt bc she still loves them to this day!
A classic Olan Mills fail pic of me, Rach, and Blake that was on Babah's wall for years.
Some at-home Glamour Shots... rocking a Chuck E. Cheese hand stamp, the bangs, the colorful makeup, and some interesting clothing choices! lol #fashionista #notsomuch
And a classic gem of Me, Mark, and Rach apparently playing Cowboys and Indians. lol Rach looks like Kyndal here to me!
"Who Wore it Best!?" ;-) Here we have Rachael LaJo wearing this classic floral dress with a lace collar paired with pearl earrings and a pearl choker-style necklace, hair half-up half-down, gray background for the photo shoot. And Lindsey Claire is sporting the same floral dress with a lace collar paired with a rhinestone Jesus necklace, a hint of lipstick, and hair in a headband, sitting on a random little bench with a forest background to represent her strong love of the outdoors. lol I was glad to find these too!
Hahaha, this made me very happy... they were told to draw a memorial, and Jace wrote the words and then colored it all in gray! Technically, he's not wrong since it's usually just a carving in the stone, but it doesn't translate quite as well in pencil, and his teacher writing "neatness?" made me laugh too!
I was joking about this with Laura the other day, then I looked at my work desk and realized I could totally pull this off (physically, at least) if I were brave enough to try it! lol
Mini Miss K getting a character award for Initiative... well deserved! I love that she has a strong personality and tends to lead the way in new ideas and getting things done!
She made me a rainbow loom fishtail bracelet yesterday, and I love it!
She's made a few for herself, as well! lol
And finally, here's me and Tman at Planet Fitness on Wednesday night... we've done a few workouts together now... treadmill, bike, 30-minute circuit, and alternating Apple Fitness and Peloton classes! =)
*Not long after taking this picture, I noticed some very familiar Tulsa streets on CNN on the TVs above us there. Blocked off and filled with police cars and other emergency vehicles. There was an active shooter at Saint Francis Hospital that day (in the Natalie Building, which I've been to a few times). Four innocent people were killed, along with the shooter, who took his own life. A senseless, tragic attack that closely follows the terrible school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. It's been an emotionally challenging/intense week with all of that, so I wanted to at least acknowledge it here. Praying for the victims and their families, and for true, God-honoring change in our country!
And that's all I have for today. Thanks for sticking with me through a longer, rambling post. I hope you're doing well and hope you have a lovely weekend ahead!
Song of the Week = Rollercoaster by Jonas Brothers (my favorite song from their new album so far)
May God's faithfulness and steadfast love be with you, and may you grow in power by His authority!
