Ready for a NEW Year!

  • Marching On = my song for 2011! :)   I don't usually have a "song of the year," but I love music so much, it only makes sense!
  • Verse for 2011:  "Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith." ~Hebrews 12:1,2
  • Instead of doing full-blown New Years resolutions, I'm doing the "one-word resolution" I read about on another blog.  It's just choosing a goal word that you can meditate and focus on through the year... only in my case, it's 3 words: Mercy, Integrity, & Freedom!
  • Mercy... because I need God's help to become a more merciful, quick-to-forgive person - with all my family and friends.  To pray for others and show them grace, and to remember that I'm not accountable for their decisions.  To recognize sin but to avoid judging the person's heart.  To live with more humility and tear down pride, especially as I relate to others.  To stay focused on running the race God has marked out for me and not to worry about what anyone else is doing.  Mercy!!
  • Integrity... to step it up and be a woman of integrity and purity in the "minor" areas... especially food, TV, internet, movies, and music!  Throwing off the sins that easily trip me up, because they are not minor to God.  Integrity!!
  • Freedom... because that's where I'm headed as I live with mercy and integrity.  Freedom from any bondage to sin, freedom from guilt, and freedom from needless worry and drama!  FREEEEEEEDOM!! =)
I'm full of hope right now, and excited to jump in and see what God has in store!  I know this excitement will fade soon enough, and it will take perseverance and commitment and a lot of mercy and grace from God...... and my prayer (for running the marathon and for 2011 as a whole) is simply to finish strong!!  =D
