Olympic Memories

Just a quick break in the middle of our biggest felony Tuesday docket ever (52 pages - yikes!!) to pay tribute to my favorite Winter Olympic sport!  Here are three of my favorite Olympic figure skating memories, (if you don't count Tonya Harding's karma-filled tearful breakdown when her skates weren't properly laced).  There's so much grace and beauty in figure skating, and when you combine that with great music and compelling stories, it's hard to forget!  ❤
Nancy Kerrigan in 1994 -- even if you don't watch the entire thing, scroll to the end  of this routine -- her landing those jumps perfectly (just weeks after being brutally attacked in an effort to take out the competition) -- it was such a great moment, and you can feel the whole crowd's excitement and admiration as she completes a flawless routine!!  It's the Winter Olympic equivalent of the Kerri Strug vault!

Tara Lipinski in 1998 -- I so vividly remember this night - we had TIVO'd the program while we went out to eat with the Wallaces, and Mom knew who won, but was trying to let it be a surprise for me and Rach (we assumed Michelle Kwan, but I really loved Tara, who was closer to my age).  Then when it came up in conversation, Bill Wallace said, "Didn't the little bitty girl win!?" lol  We were so happy, then watching this back was super fun - I love her smile at the end!!

Jamie Sale and David Pelletier in 2002 -- who can forget the Canadian pair and the drama surrounding their medal win?  This = pure awesomeness!!

It's funny how Olympic moments and performances can stick with you!  I'm not quite as into it so far this year, but I did get Hulu Live for the month of February, just for the Super Bowl and the Olympics!! =)

Anywho, that's all for today's short and simple post.  Hooray for Galentine's Lifegroup tonight (our annual breakfast-for-dinner PJ party with chick flick movies) - get excited!!
