Memes to Remember

This is definitely a serious situation and the news updates can be stressful and surreal, but it's also a pretty great time for coronavirus-related memes... so here are a few I wanna remember when all of this is over:

We'll never forget the great toilet paper crisis of 2020...

Ahh, the good ol' days! =)

Crime never stops, so the courthouse never closes... although I'm hoping they surprise me here!

Lol this made me think of Mom and Dad - I know it's rough times for them with zero sports to watch!

Rach posted this one, feeling over it all!

Text from Chettles

Appropriate for today! lol

This and some of the comments about the many CHA families with more than 10 people have made me laugh!

Sounds about right - cancel every fun trip and event, and while you're at it close all the parks, theaters, and restaurants!

Lol

It's hard not to be in snacking mode when quarantined... not impossible, granted, but more challenging.

Our day has finally arrived. lol

Dentist Neil cracking me up, as per usual!

And now a couple more heartfelt posts:

I loved this seeing this... it also made me thankful that this pandemic happened after Grandad died.

And last but not least, a friend's post that made me literally laugh out loud today!
That's all for today.  I've decided to have a lovely staycation and not risk infecting any of the fam on the off chance I've been exposed to anything... so yay for being an introvert who enjoys sleeping in, audiobooks, podcasts, writing, movies, painting, social media, and cooking!  And hooray for my stationary bike and PELOTON - those classes and coaches are bringing me lots of joy and keeping me active latley!! ❤  Highly recommend Robin Arzon's 45-minute Queen ride - she's always encouraging and that's some great workout music! =)

*EDIT:  Mmkay, while I'm on the topic of memes, a quick mini-rant: I've seen a few people share this meme, and it just annoys me every time.
Ugh, I can't stomach the epic condescension and painful stupidity of some Christians.  If they added "when everything is going perfectly well for you" before every comma, it would be much more fair and realistic.  You don't relax when the airplane goes through terrible turbulence or when a child is screaming or when a dog just pooped in the aisle (literally happened on one of my flights).  You don't relax when the cruise ship is rocking over waves that almost make you fall over, or if there's any sickness spreading rapidly around the boat.  I've never been on a train, but if it was suddenly jolting you out of your seat, you might not feel super calm just then.  No woman I know always feels totally relaxed riding alone with an Uber driver they don't know - that's a calculated risk every time, and you hope for the best while staying vigilant about your safety.  They take a wrong turn down a dark alley, and any relaxation would disappear pretty fast.  Who is super-relaxed about undergoing surgery, and who doesn't meet and chat with their doctor first? lol  That one is just really dumb.  Then that last line: why "you don't" relax in life, knowing God is its controller?  I cannot even.  Make it stop.

I don't love the comparison of God to an Uber driver or airline pilot, etc., since He's not uninvolved in our lives but knows us and cares about us personally... but I also hate stuff like this that makes people feel guilty for having normal human emotions when they're going through traumatic or difficult or scary seasons.  If you're not totally relaxed and at peace all the time, it doesn't mean something is wrong with you or your faith!  It means you have a brain and you're aware that we live in a very broken world and sometimes things go terribly wrong and people suffer deep pain - physical, emotional, and spiritual.  Sometimes your airplane takes a sudden nosedive and you feel panicked and you're scrambling to figure out what went wrong.  People also love the trite cliche: "What's happening now is not a surprise to God," but the same thing is true of every global tragedy, war, abuse, and massive injustice... so we sound ignorant and insensitive when we refuse to acknowledge that reality.  God knowing about all of it ahead of time doesn't mean life is always going to be rainbows and sunshine or that we can all just sail through it while relaxing together.  So please shut up with this crap because I don't have the patience for it right now.  I also don't have it in me to argue with memes everyone else is barely thinking about then posting "AMEN" to on FB, so I'm throwing this in here. lol  In summary, it's good to remember God and turn to Him in prayer, but it's perfectly normal to acknowledge and react to the storms and turbulence in life, and to realize that God doesn't always intervene or act the way we would prefer Him to.  It's comforting that God is with us and to know that everything will be set right eventually, but we're NOT living in the peaceful bliss of heaven yet, and some days, that's far more obvious than others!  *End rant.*
