The Black Box (Photo Friday)

Happy Friday, friends and fam!  It's been a good morning here, starting off with a fun workout that included my 100th Peloton Yoga class - yay!!  No shoutout today, but I'm following Alex's advice to clap for myself and "validate my own greatness!" lol  Then our hearing for this morning was continued - always happy news - so here I am on the blog. =)

So I mentioned yesterday that Mom and I went through the black box full of old photos... we were looking for pictures of my apartment, but no luck on that.  We found all kinds of other fun stuff, though.  Here are a few of them...

This = Blake, Rach, Me, and Emily at our 9121 house on Christmas Eve 2004 (or possibly 2005?).  My skirt was sparkly, and I loved it!

Me and Rach hanging out with Ty, who was trying on my crazy bright blue contacts... "If I had blue eyes, it'd be over - I wouldn't even know what to do with myself!" ~Ty Wallace lol

Then Grandad holding Rach on her 1st birthday (the cake was for my 3rd and Rachael's 1st).

Me and Jennifer Diane Womble on the bus trip to Washington D.C with Tiffany and Kathleen behind us.  It's interesting to me how we look crazy young here, but we're actually close to the age of my oldest nephew, who doesn't seem super young to me right now - like, he seems far more grown up.  I dunno.  I'm sure we probably felt grown up at that age too, but we look so little here. lol

A less old-school pic of Rach giving Jenny some highlights (during Rach's Duncan Bros hair school days)!

I was happy to find this one - it's freshfaced 20-year-old Lindsey, all dressed up and ready for my first job interview with Judge Herndon in Chickasha. I'll be honest - I haven't looked this nice for work in quite a while, and that was probably the last time I wore pantyhose. lol  The shirt was lavender, and I wore a little flower pin on my jacket that matched it.  Keepin' it classy. lol  And I had on real high heels rather than the boots that are my go-to shoes now.  The V-neck looks pretty good here, buuuuut that was a mistake.  I'd never been interviewed before, so how was I to know I would break out in full hives while sitting at the boardroom table across from three male judges asking me questions.  They definitely could've made that less intimidating, but also, present-day me would find it far less intimidating and nerve wracking than I did back then.  Judges are normal people, and they're usually good at doing most of the talking so you feel more at ease.  Anyway, I remember feeling like I did so well, then I walked out by a mirror and saw my whole neck and face looking beet red and splotchy with hives... nooooo. lol  Whatevs, I got the job, and it ended up being kinda terrible anyway!

Seeing Jenny laughing in this pic makes me laugh, even though I have no clue what was funny at the time. =)

Rach trying on her lovely yellow JSB dress (before the CHA dresscode-approved shoulder straps had been sewn on - scandalous). lol  And it makes me happy that Friends is on in the background, as was often the case in those years!  Aww, our box-style big screen TV with our Senior pics and the flag-carrying eagle on top.  You can actually see three eagle statues in this picture... Mom's a big fan of eagles and all things patriotic. #merica  Finally, that ottoman you see at the bottom right goes with the big brown chair, and they're both in my living room today! =)

My cousin Michael, cousin Justin, uncle Gus, and Dad... clearly about to go to a golf tournament of some sort!  I like that Michael is looking up and questioning the ridiculousness of this imaginary golf club pose, and the others are just going for it! lol

The fam at Applewoods (note the hot apple fritters on Mom and I's plates) celebrating Mother's Day 2003 or 2004.  I'm clearly guessing on that part.  Ugh, man, I miss Applewoods!!  It was Mom's favorite and thus our go-to restaurant for lots of family dinners and mother-daughter lunches... cheese soup, parmesan-dressing salad, the best dinner rolls, apple fritters, and Hawaiian chicken.  Yes, please to all of that!  #bringbackApplewoods #andFlipagram lol

Me sneaking in for a picture while getting a post-concert autograph from Aaron Jeffrey... I think that was two people's first names, but I can't be certain it wasn't the full name of this one guy.  I remember thinking he was cute and then being really irritated about having braces in this photo.  If only I could just pop them off when I needed to look grown up and sophisticated in a picture. lol  Also, throwback with The Light 105 radio station poster - I can still hear that jingle in my head!  Final random thought - this striped shirt and overalls = my Terri from Point of Grace look when we tried to copy their CD cover... I'm sure I thought that made it extra cool. LOL

This will always make me happy! =)

Muecke & Wesselhoft, Attorneys at Law. lol  Rachael LaJo and Holly Dei looking fierce at a Mock Trial competition... Mock Trial was the best - lots of good memories there!  First participating in it and giving a dramatic opening statement and witness performance, always riding with Pascha, Mark, and Jason... then watching Rach and Holly and their team... then watching Joshua Michael and Sarah's team!  All fun!!

While we came up short on any pics of my Tulsa apartment, we did find some pics of my dorm room at OBU... aww, the bug-filled basement of Kerr building! lol  Fierce, door-blocking crickets ;-) and sink-crawling ants and one dead spider in my bed that sent me riiight back down the road to Mom and Dad's.  It was very rough times down there for my bug-fearing self and it made me think I might never be able to live on my own - wrong!  Anyway, I'd kinda forgotten what the dorm looked like, so it was nice to see some photos.  This giant bulletin board was fun!

My room was Mary Engelbreit themed decor, and we were *not subtle* about that!! lol

Okay, I think that's all the old-school randomness I've got for you this morning.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead!! ❤
