Thankful Thursday #137!!

❤❤ Today, I am grateful for:

1.  A fresh start with the new year... and knowing that the even-numbered years have typically tended to be better in my life! lol
*Side note:  I created this meme to make up for failing T-Swift in the 5 Second Rule game on NY Eve... the card was "Name 3 Taylor Swift Songs." It went all the way around the table with people naming one or two, and when it came to me, I was too excited - I named two songs then was trying to remember which ones everyone else had already said, and my time ran out.  UGH, so irritating to miss that one!  T-Swift deserves better from me. lol

2.  A fun get-together with friends on New Year's Eve!  There were lots of cute children involved, so we basically rang in the fake new year at 9pm, then divided up the snacks and went our separate ways. lol  (So I officially rang in the new year with Cobra Kai season 4!)

❤❤
Baby Kate is already 6 months old (as of January 2nd).  Sarah took this picture using Portrait Mode, and the darker setting you can use in the background made me laugh... very Olan Mills circa 1990.

3.  My happy, colorful new Crockpot in the Sweet Rose pattern like my dishes... thanks, Pioneer Woman!

4.  All the good things God did in my life through the past year!  My end-of-year "Top 9" pictures for 2021 = Catching up with Tiffany. Ringing in Sarah's bday with the Fultons and Wilsons 10 days after baby Kate's birth.  Visiting Dad in ICU on a day when he was showing improvement.  Page 1 of my Adoption Profile book.  Conquering an escape room with the niece and nephews.  My 1,000th Peloton workout.  Me and Kristin at baby Amelia's shower.  Mom and Dad on their 40th anniversary.  And my Mockey Little Christmas Party!

5.  Completing my 2021 Peloton calendar - YAY!  (I'm on day 6 of my 2022 calendar, this time coloring in the days where I hit these three goals:  Prayer, anything Peloton, and a Protein shake.  It's motivating for me to have that on my fridge, and I hope to color in every day of the year building those habits!)

6.  Getting back to church! ❤  I'm allowing myself one weekend per month to stay home and watch/listen online, but planning to try to be there in person (at any church service at any church) faaar more often in 2022.  I love solid Christian community, and being there for the worship service was good for my soul, and I don't want church-cynicism or churchlessness to become an accepted norm for me!

7.  God's faithfulness, and my verse for 2022! ❤

8.  Getting to see Spider-Man: No Way Home with Tiffany on New Year's Eve Eve!  Fun times, and such a great movie!!

9.  Some end-of-year time off, including a few very restful days where I stayed in my pajamas all day and watched good movies and ate comfort foods!

10.  Being back at work.*  That may sound a bit ironic, but it's never good for me to spend too many days in a row without much company or a set schedule.  Balance is a wonderful thing.  So I'm grateful for the lovely break, and I'm thankful to resume the usual routine and step into a new year and all the craziness that comes along with it at the CCC! =)

(Photo by Laura on the day ABC came to get some footage of our courtroom for a documentary they're doing on the Girl Scout murder trial in Oklahoma.)

*It's been an interesting week with loads of new Covid cases throughout the courthouse and beyond, but I vote we still stop and be thankful and appreciate the little joys today.  Or in the words of my favorite coach:  "If you're feeling like the world is a little crazy and out of control, you're not alone!  Pray on it.  But we're gonna commit to 30 minutes of joy right now, knowing we can't do a damn thing about a damn thing!" ~Cody Rigsby, Peloton lol

Happy Thursday, my friends!  I sincerely hope 2022 is off to a lovely start for you thus far. ❤❤
