Good morning, dear friends and family! I'm writing this from my beautiful new office in Cleveland County. Our Jury Trial for this week was continued, which, as you might guess, is a delight to my soul. lol Mom and I spent a lot of our Easter weekend getting my new office perfectly set up and ready. So I have this first week to settle in and meet some new people here, and of course, to catch up on all the blogging! ;-)
Thursday of last week (not that long ago, but feels like forever) was my final day of work at the Creek County Courthouse!
The three things that might have needed a record all fell apart, so my last official record was a virtual Judicial Review hearing on my last "felony Tuesday," and that feels appropriate.
Here are a few photos from my last day at work, starting with me, Judge Golden, and Laura... he said something about it being "our last group picture," and I thought to myself... and our first. This is my only photo with him, to my knowledge. And I'm thankful to have it! =)
Laura was kind enough to get me a lovely goodbye card and have several of the judges, bailiffs, court clerks, and DAs sign it! I love it!!
The verse image I created and posted that morning.
This = my bookend picture with Tiffany... we took a very similar photo on her first day at the courthouse five years ago (HERE).
Me, Laura, and Tiffany by the courthouse fountain - sadly, it was turned off that day, but it's been one of my favorite things since they added it in 2014!
I leave carrying 15 years of memories... the good, the bad, and the crazy (or "unbridled lunacy" as Laura put it in her card)! I may do a top 10 post with specific memories later. ...And I leave behind a very clean office, aside from this massive pile of old exhibits waiting to be shredded! lol

I'm considering this my final contribution to Creek County. They've locked the front door since COVID began, so you have to go around to the side entrance... and it's been frustrating to me to watch people with walkers or mobility issues who struggle to walk up the stairs get there and then finally see the paper sign on that door and have to turn around and walk all the way around the building. (I'd love it if they would just unlock it and let things be normal, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards just yet.) Judge asked after our last Jury Trial if there was anything we saw that we could do better, and I talked about this and said they really need to add a sign before you get to that front door. On my last day, I noticed that they've added not one but two signs, so hooray for that! And you're welcome to everyone who sees it and saves themselves lots of extra steps. ;-)
Fare thee well, Creek County Courthouse and Courtroom Number 1!! ❤
