...And Happy 7-year Blog-iversary to me! :)
Seeing that I've finally reached "the perfect number" of years, I could take that as a sign and stop now... but that's highly unlikely. lol
So I've been doing some organizing and de-cluttering, which included some quality time skimming through my old "Desk Calendar" journals from 2003-2008, a/k/a the original TimeHop. ;) (I love that I have at least a short record of what I did every single day through those years, and I really loved going back through all my random drawings and captions in 2005! lol I may have to start this up again!)
So here are 12 years of July 3rd snippets from my journals and this blog:
July 3, 2003 ~ Cleaned house, baked cookies and brownies for the 4th, brought dinner over to Rach (who was babysitting at the Kufahls'), Mrs. Beavers cleaned our house, practiced my court reporting stuff with Mom, watched the Bourne Identity and the Spelling Bee Frasier!
...Yes, I actually wrote all of that down. lol
Fun sidenote - we painted and decorated the "Mary Engelbreit room" earlier that week! :)
July 3, 2004 ~ Got ready - cleaned and set up - Dad's fam came around 3:00... Charlene had lots of entertaining Albert stories. We celebrated Kristin's B-day! :) Watched Undercover Brother and The Patriot... and "ate a million cookies!" lol
July 3, 2005 ~ LifeChurch with the fam and the Texas Mueckes - Sam Roberts spoke and it was Brian Bruss' last Sunday at that campus. We saw Bewitched in theaters with the fam, then came home and played Scene It and Mexican Dominoes then had dinner and dessert (with Dad's side of the family, at our 9121 house). :)
*Day after the line dancing Dallas trip and Gene Autry Museum with JMM! lol
July 3, 2006 ~ Courtroom flooded because sewer backed up - ugh (so apparently, they have similar problems in Chickasha and Creek County)! Read Identity and watched The O.C. "Paid my bills" (I'm wondering now what that was back then) and tried on new pointy-toed shoes (why I felt the need to jot that down is beyond me, but hey, I'm a record-keeper). Got Chilis to go (JMM worked there so I was probably their most frequent customer at the time). Ran into Jordan for the first time since the transition. That day's journal ended with: "Josh called. :) I love him! HW says I 'need rehab.' :)" lol
(*Ohhh, she was right. Re-reading some of my notes there, and I was painfully ridiculous.)
July 3, 2007 ~ Worked on pleas through lunch (angry face)! Got off work at 3:00. Talked about Bait of Satan book with Mom - really trying to forgive JMM. :( Deleted all emails to, from, or about him. Made cookies for tomorrow and watched Friends.
July 3, 2008 ~ Work was good - read Blue Like Jazz - profound. Tried a new LG - "definitely no Changie's LG!" Drove home (to Mom and Dad's new house). Started this blog!!
July 3, 2009 ~ Slept in til 10:30, had lunch with Rach, jogged 7 miles! (Training for my first Half at that time.)
July 3, 2010 ~ Breakfast at Bellagio Pool Cafe, toured several hotels, M&M and Coca-Cola World, Maggianos dinner, awesome One Republic concert on the beach, rang in the 4th with Whitney's Star Spangled Banner fountain show!! :)
July 3, 2011 ~ Up At the Movies sermon (really good)! Wrote Blog-iversary post about being thankful for my friends and fam!
July 3, 2012 ~ Bid farewell to Lexi (my pretty red convertible). lol
July 3, 2013 ~ I have no record for that exact date other than knowing I was off work. #lame I know that the 1st was the 30 presents incident, and the 4th was seeing White House Down + dinner at Nancy's + fireworks at Mom and Dad's with Agim and Ariel!
July 3, 2014 ~ Wrote this Thankful Thursday post. :) And Rach and her fam swam at JB's, because I posted this pic on FB that day! lol
Which brings us to today! ...So far, I've slept in, wished Kristin a happy b-day, eaten smores for breakfast, played with the puppies, texted Chet as they're on a hike, and listened to Cool Runnings in the background as I write this blog. lol Fascinating stuff, I know. Now I'm gonna finish cleaning, then I'm hoping to do a movie this afternoon and maybe dinner with the group when they return!
...I definitely plan to do a new Quotables post soon, because there are so many great ones in these journals that I'd forgotten about!
But that's all for now. I'm excited for tomorrow, and I hope you have a very Happy 4th!! :)
