Once upon a time, Jeffrey Edward sat next to J-Biebs on an airplane, and the story became legendary!
...They talked through a lot of the flight, and Jeff didn't have any idea who he was. As the flight was landing, Jeff asked Justin about his plans (what he was going to do in whatever city they were going to) and Justin said he was just in town for a concert, so Jeff asked who he was going to see. J-Biebs explained that he was actually performing and invited Jeff to the show with a free ticket... Jeff politely declined, likely unaware that some people were paying crazy $ for those tickets. I'm not clear on exactly when he figured out that the kid he was talking to was ridicu-famous -- maybe when they got off the plane to the girlish screams of his teenage fans, or perhaps when he saw him on Ellen a few months later. lol Either way, it's a pretty great story, as is Jeff's assumption that they will meet again and be good friends and have a mentor relationship someday!
(*We did an epic Bieber-themed surprise birthday party for Jeff in 2012, and with way too much free time and many Google searches, I made the first collage above to showcase "Justin following in the footsteps of his mentor!" lol)
