Discombobulated

Well, there is the crazy tragic upsetting situation in Dallas (11 police officers shot and 4 deceased at this point), the situation with Hillary being above the law (not shocking), KD leaving the Thunder for Golden State (and the wide variety of overreactions to that decision), my niece almost drowning (she's perfectly fine, but close calls are still pretty scary there), and Mom's post-surgery fall on the 4th of July (she's also fine now and recovering and doing better, but it was tense and painful for everyone - mostly her). So it's been a weird week, with several great moments scattered in there, but still, feeling a little discombobulated. (Also, I recently learned that T-Swift is dating Loki, and I don't even know what to do with that... very odd. lol)

I've mostly been taking care of Mom this week, and there's nothing I'd rather be doing. The more I get wrapped up in it, the harder it becomes to leave and to not let myself worry and fret. I got to go see The Secret Life of Pets with the Myricks and Charlene tonight, so that was fun and a really cute movie!

Hey, fun fact: Today is 7-7-16, so it's nine years past my original goal wedding date. lol   In actual reality, 7-7-07 was the day I got a really harsh phone call from Josh's mom telling me I needed therapy -- a true story, but when it's said out of vengeance rather than genuine concern, it's one of the worst statements you can throw at someone.  Today is also exactly two years from the last day I had any contact with my most recent ex-bestie. Hmm, I guess that wasn't so fun after all. lol  Whatevs, though. I'm big on 7's, and I like this day, and I'm not gonna let Satan ruin that for me!

This post can also serve as my "Week 8" post since I forgot to write yesterday. I have somehow managed to lose 8 pounds from my weigh-in last Friday to this morning. (Not based on stellar behavior on my part, I assure you... sometimes the scale is just funny.)

One example of non-stellar behavior = a Wendy's frosty. But look how awesome this is... red, white, and blue cups with an adoption theme because they're partnering with an adoption agency. I seriously love that!! Makes me feel the need to support them more often via chocolate frosty consumption! ;-)

Another example = tortillas, queso, and a cheese enchilada from Ted's to-go! :) This was our 4th of July family dinner - me, Mom, Dad, and Charlene. It was tasty and a fun time!

This = Mom and Charlene looking at pics of Al's new house. Mom's gonna be all about it soon, ready to paint and decorate and wanting to do more than she should, I can already tell!

A happy selfie with Miss Kyndal Faith as she sat in the recliner with me. She asked for my phone then immediately sneezed on it 3 times - eeek. Then she speed-dialed 5 of my friends and text Rach some lovely gibberish. :) Any time she gets to something she's not sure how to do, she says, "I neh hay-ulp!" lol I just love the way she talks right now!! Adorable.

This = a cute shot of the Jaceman taken by K-Faith. They make me happy! =)
That's all I've got right now, and I know it's fairly random and melancholy. I'd try to formulate a more organized post, but it's almost midnight, and I need to go in and help Mom so we can all go to bed and get a little - (keyword: little) - sleep!
