Memory Monday ~ Weekend

Happy Birth-week to me, and Happy Galentine's Day to all my female readers!! lol  Our women's lifegroup is celebrating that with a fun breakfast-for-dinner thing tonight. =) I've never seen the Galentine's episode of Parks and Rec, but I can already tell I like the idea because I like cheesy fun things and girls nights. I've got my pink headband, sparkly heart earrings, and Valentine's socks on, so bring it! lol

Here's a fun pic of the Miss K before she got sick on Saturday. :( It was Rach's birthday, so naturally, Jaceman had a fever that morning, Kyndal threw up around lunch time, Carter had a homework project that required Rachael's creative help most of the afternoon, and T-man seemed to be coming down with the flu at dinner. lol #motherhood It was actually a really fun day in spite of all that, but it did kinda make me laugh when I thought about it.

This was the collage I made for Rach's birthday. Whenever I look up sister pics for us, I always  flash back to Nancy, Georgia, and Charlene singing the "Sisters, sisters..." song from White Christmas! lol

Seeing our pics with Danielle also made me laugh - she and Rach were always so funny together!!

Carter's project was a Timeline with pics of major events throughout his young life and four main character qualities that they see in him!  Not sure which qualities they ended up going with, but I see him as bold, energetic, joyful, affectionate, confident, and entertaining/funny! =)  Mom, Rach, me, and Carterman scoured through several pics, and this was one of my favorites! :)

The Jaceman got a mini teddy bear from his girlfriend, Claire -- he brought it out to show me, then did this when I asked if I could take a picture of it! lol  (Also, the "R" behind him is a project Rach is working on for Courtney's Ritzy Gypsy boutique... I love it! She's getting better and better at the Donna Dewberry flowers!)

I also got to go visit Kristin and her boys at the hospital! :)  I got to sit with her and talk for a few minutes, then we went up to the NICU to see the twins. Nash was breathing well and getting ready to come off of the ventilator. And Wesson just needs to gain a little weight before he leaves the incubator, but they're both doing really well! Kristin's blood sugar and blood pressure were both good, and I believe she got to go home yesterday. Praying for peace and continued good health for all of them!

We had Rach's birthday dinner at Bravo, where the kid's pasta is the same size as the adult portion! lol I only got candid pics, but it was tasty and fun. =)

T-man coming over to tell Rach and Josh a story... not sure what he was saying here, but Josh's expression makes me laugh!

A few fun quotes from the weekend:

"Hey Lindsey, come here, and I'll show you how the fish get pregnant!!" ~Carter
"Hmm, that should be fun!" ~Me

"So how old are you?" -Triston, to Rach
"Well, I'm 31 today!" -Rach
"Whoooaa! You're gah-rowing up... like a big, scary monster!!"  -Jaceman

Rach's expression after that was hilarious! lol Boys crack me up with their imagination. :)

"Carter!! Stop talking so I can talk!" ~Jace

Mom and I took the kids to Chick-Fil-A so Rach could have a minute to shower and get ready.  Their 4-way argument in the car was super entertaining...

Triston:  "Nana's giving us both $20 for when we go on the cruise!"
Carter:  "No, she said she was gonna give me $40!"
Triston: "No, she's not - that's not fair. You're just saying that to start an argument!"
Jaceman: "T-man, have a happy smile and a happy heart!!"
Triston:  "It was happy till Carter came along!"
Silence for a minute.

Carter:  "Girls like me more!"
Triston:  "Ohmygosh!!"
Kyndal Faith:  "Treeton and Carter, NO arguing!" =)

Rach, after hearing Jaceman tell Mamaw a secret story:  "Jace, were you mean to a little girl on the playground?"
(Holds his hand up really tall) "A big girl."

(A sad story, and they obviously corrected him, but it was kinda hard not to laugh at him trying to justify it.)

"They put chicken in your pasta? That's disgusting!" -Jace, seeing Mamaw's chicken parmesan
"It's ....pretty normal!" -Me lol

"Hey, that's a J you just made!" ~Me, watching Kyndal coloring

"Bubba! Look, Bubba, I made a J!" ~Miss K
"And that right there is an X." -Me
"Mamaw, look, I made a X!!" ~K-Faith
(Draws a super random scribble then looks up at me expectantly...)

"What's this!?" =)

She's so adorable, singing a little made-up song to herself until she noticed me listening then covered her eyes with her little hands! lol She was so excited about making the accidental letters, and we worked on making a K for Kyndal. =)

I felt the need to change up this FB status that began with "Marriage isn't for the faint of heart." Neither is singleness, folks. Reading that first sentence made me think of the "lots of smug married couples" dinner scene in Bridget Jones. No one has the market cornered on relational challenges and difficult circumstances. I was originally thinking about how couples have a built-in support system that singles don't have, then God redirected my thoughts because He is my ever-present support system, so I switched out "spouse" for "Savior." :)
Single Christianity isn't for the faint of heart. It's not always pretty; the part about for richer or poorer and in sickness and health is not promised to us by any person, but when people unexpectedly walk away, Jesus is always with us for a reason! (And it's worth it!) It's Happily Married Husband and Wife Week, (but since that's not the only relationship that requires heart and commitment, I'm changing this status up a little.) ;) If your Savior is still your best friend, always at work in your life, has been with you through triumphs and tragedies, loves you when you're at your worst, and you are proud to be His, copy and paste with date and year you were saved.  December 27, 1991.
Okay, that's all for today. Hope you have a lovely Galentine's and Valentine's day!! =)
