Home Remodel Extravaganza!

In honor of my 10-year Tulsaversary this year (moved January 2007, bought my house August 2007)... and in honor of my decision to stay here and stick with my current job, Mom and I decided to use my week off work in July to "remix this business" with some fresh new colors and decor around my room. As we talked and planned for that, it quickly became an entire home remodel extravaganza! We're 95 percent done now, and I LOVE IT ALL!!

My new bedroom look (bedskirt coming soon):
It's quite a change!  That colorful fringy "adventure" pillow is my favorite thing ever, and I love the new nightstand, curtains, canvas, bedspread, drizzle-painted mirror, and happy Mystic Sea wall color!

Before and After of the bathroom. Lowe's no longer makes that yellow color (Hubbel House Golden Maize) but we found some of it that was 10 years old in the garage, and it was still good enough to work for the areas we needed to touch up! =)  I was kinda sad to have the magnolias painted out, but it was time for a fun change! I ADORE that cherry blossom tree painting... after Mom and I looked around 5 different stores for wall art, Tiffany stumbled on a small box of artwork at Lowe's, which is where I got this and my "The best is yet to come" wall hanging!  Then Mom suggested that I get a pink paint pen to dot the flowers and tie in the pink, so yay for all of that!!

Before and After bedroom shot:

Before and after of my living room couch & coffee table vs. the new pink couch and ottoman! LOVE. ♥

Repainting the laundry room baseboards white where the girlfranz had chewed it up as puppies made a huge difference! =)

Things I love about my new bathroom... the 8x10 wood panels of Niagara and NYC, the new towels (that used to be Rach's at her apartment), the 11x14 pic of my niece and nephews, the white iron hanging on the pink wall above the bathtub, the Paris decorative tote box, the matchy blue tray that holds all my bathroom cabinet stuff, my Identity Declaration pic in a new silver and pearl frame from Mardel, my happy cherry blossoms, and my newly framed bathroom mirror - so great!!

Happy Helpers! lol  Mom replanting my lovely azaleas for the living room, Alan being appalled by the bright pink color I'd chosen - lol, eating the Hideaway Pizza my Dad brought us when he came after his LG, Dad changing all my outdoor lightbulbs and cleaning those and the windows, I put the couch together my very own self - YAY, ME!, me with my happy paint brush doing the trim work in the gray room, the mirror after we painted and drizzled it, and finally, me and Mom working on the Upper Case Living verse to go above my bed!  (It turned out great, but it took us about 3 hours going over every scroll and crevice of every letter and corner piece to get them to stick, so I do not recommend buying from them!  Hooray for Netflix and having a Mom who's willing to stay up till 2:30 getting this kinda stuff done!)

Azaleas, the boards we had to paint white before we framed the mirror, the Upper Case Living stuff laid out (such a pain to center and keep it all straight), the frame taped on after Tiffany glued it and we all pressed it down for a while, Georgia being awesome and painting the top of my ceiling and the little pink stripe!, Alan FOUR-coating the pink to get it right over the burgundy!, Tiffany applying the Liquid Nails Fuze It glue to the boards for my mirror frame, checking the paint color after patching the hole from my old alarm panels! =)

Charlene painting the boards for the mirror white, Mom stirring in the silver glitter - yes, please!, me taking a reclining break while holding Mom's roller and excited about my "Let's Remix This Business" shirt!, the last time I saw the magnolias - lol, so excited to see more of the new blue color on the walls, Mom rolling the gray and probably overworking her back, earlier that same morning and same room, Charlene getting more paint for her handy trim cup, Georgia painting out the stripe - YAY for awesome family and friends helping out!! We got SO MUCH done that Saturday!

The only room that didn't change much, but that's because I really love my kitchen exactly as it is! =)

Pics from my library or computer room!  New pic of me with TCJK, the trunk from the living room got moved, more wall art from Lowe's - makes me think of heaven and of being positive and believing your best days are ahead and not behind you, the iron wall art that used to go above my bed, my Hope canvas, I redid all the bookshelves to try to create a little more "white space" where they didn't look quite so full and brimming over, and of course, my SNU diploma! =)
(The little globe is the only new thing in the bookshelves, but I love it!)

Living room... Mom found the huge "L" along with these great lamps and gray pillows and the basket for the blankets at At Home, the pink candles and blue photo album at Hobby Lobby, the pink lamp and rug and couch online! The embellishment above the mirror is another Upper Case Living purchase, but it was much easier than the canvas. I LOVE everything about my living room!! Love it all. The "vintage tufted sofa sleeper and ottoman" from Wayfair turned out much cuter than I anticipated. We moved the sofa table behind the couch to cover the back being kind of ugly. The rug is fantastic, and the azaleas and the lamps, and yeah, I just love it all! Gray recliner that was out of stock is coming soon to finish this room off! =) I worried about it being too feminine at first, a room guys would not ever wanna hang out in, but I'm over that now! Me and the girlfranz love it, so huzzah!  Chet texted that the couch was "boutique chic and very Lindsey and the girlfranz!" lol

Before and After of the mirror... Mom painted the gold to turquoise, then I drizzled a little of all the colors in the beddding... it turned out great!!

The guest room... never to be a roommate room again, but hopefully to have more guests over for the night! =)  We put that bed in a different spot and did a bit of rearranging, but nothing in this room or bathroom is a new purchase! We moved the TV that used to be here into the gray room, and moved that bigger TV into my bedroom. I'm happy to see the Friends frame back up where the TV used to go! =)

My bedroom... the bedspread, the new candlesticks Mom ordered, the huge drizzled mirror, my new clearance nightstand from Mathis Brothers, new PB Teen lamp + pink frame and Bible and turquoise journal from Mardel, calligraphed verse we moved from the living room + old silver frames and my perfume tray, happy polka dot valances that go with everything so well, strength and dignity canvas Mom got me, and the Upper Case Living canvas with one of my favorite verses!

The TV pics still make me happy!  We left all the nails in the wall when we painted this room, and that made putting things back up SO EASY!!  The guys came over one night and moved my black couch in there. Mom and I decided to use the glittery black valance from the living room there, as well. We moved the bulletin board up a bit to accommodate that couch, then I hung the "Let all that you do be done in love" verse from Mardel above it!  Marisa's "Believe" artwork and a cutesy little french painting on a canvas are decorating my entryway (first time anything's been there). We had to work hard to get it all right, but the TV is now in my armoire, and I LOVE it!

Before and After of the living room!  One of the final things we did was order 10 5x7 wood panels from Walgreens to hang on both sides of the TV. I know there's a lot of pink happening, but I love it all!!  I had to restart an episode of Friends the other night because I realized I'd been zoned out admiring my new living room. lol
I'm thankful for everyone who helped out, and so happy with all the changes!!
