Happy New Year!!

"You were chosen according to the purpose of God the Father and were made a holy people by his Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be purified by His blood.  May grace and peace be yours in full measure. Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  Because of His great mercy He gave us new life by raising Jesus Christ from death.  This fills us with a living hope, and so we look forward to possessing the rich blessings that God keeps for His people.  He keeps them for you in heaven, where they cannot decay or spoil or fade away.  Through faith you are being protected by God's power for a salvation that is ready to be revealed at the end of this era."
~1 Peter 1:2-5

That verse was just a friendly reminder that we were chosen by God to have a new life in Christ which gives us a "living hope" for an eternal inheritance that will not fade or spoil.  So whatever else is happening in our lives, we can always be thankful for that hope!!

Happy first day of 2020!! ❤

I rang in the new year with good friends at the Wilson home, something that's become a tradition over the past four or five years!  We had spaghetti and alfredo pasta + salad and garlic bread + tasty desserts + CatchPhrase fun + sharing our resolutions, words, and themes for 2020 + the traditional group pic (via Apple Watch selfie, pictured above) + toasting in the new year at midnight!! #cheers

Here's me and Tiffany in our festive headbands! =)

Group dinner pic. #thankful

Tater-tot looking up at me from his box-fort skylight! ❤

JEM was in New Orleans with Wes for tonight's Baylor game, so we thought of him as we watched the countdown (happening in New Orleans) on TV.  We were hoping we'd get to see some classic Jeffrey Edward dance moves, but no such luck. lol

Anyway, the new year is off to a good start so far.  Bring on 2020!

And for the sake of documentation, here are my official resolutions for this year. =)
*I'm turning 36 in February, so I liked the idea of writing 36 letters to people I love and value.  I have several books I own but have not finished reading, so I want to focus mostly on those + Beth Moore and John Eldredge's new books.  And unless God blocks the path or changes my heart, I want to move forward in a real way toward adoption this year - get excited!!  ❤

As the verse at the top says, "May grace and peace be yours in full measure."  What a fantastic blessing to start off the new year!
