This was going to be my "Memory Monday" post I said I'd write yesterday, but I never got around to it, so it gets a more fun title today!
Chet hosted a client appreciation event on May 22nd. It was outside in front of the Wilson home, and friends walking down that street were greeted with a lovely fragrance, a mixture of these gorgeous roses and freshly popped kettle corn!
This is the Gas Petal Flower Truck where they have a create-your-own-bouquet thing! You choose a focal bloom, some fillers, and some accent flowers (there's a recipe telling you how many of each) then they cut the flowers and bind and wrap them for you... super cute and creative idea! Chelsea, the woman who runs this small business, seems to really enjoy it. ❤
The kettle corn was made by Shane, of course, and it was delicious! It also made me happy to see Chet's new business card and sticker on the bags. I got one bag of regular kettle corn, and one bag of "Chet's Special Mix" aka adding cinnamon -- both really good!

This may sound exceptionally cheesy, but really, what else do you expect from me? It was comforting and grounding for me to snack on that as I drove to OKC later that afternoon (after getting the call from Rach about Dad being in the ER). I literally left this event and drove straight to MWC, telling Chet and Karli and Teresa that Dad was in the hospital just before I left, then talking with Jeffrey Edward on the phone for a few minutes along my drive. Comfort food will always be something I appreciate, and it was nice to have spent the morning and afternoon in such a relaxing, pleasant way... then to have that tangible reminder that no matter what happens, there is beauty and goodness in the world - there are lovely gatherings with friends and flowers and popcorn and sunshine. And Chet's sticker was a reminder to me that I have wonderful friends who were already praying for me and my family! Okay, cheesiness over. =)
It was great getting to see the Moss fam for a bit! They were about ready to head back home for Ellie's afternoon nap at this point, after getting a quick photo with our event host!
The Holland family also stopped by, and I was amazed to see how much Titus and Sterling have grown up since I last saw them!
Karli went in to put Tate in bed for a nap, and I got to hold Miss Parker for a while! ❤
It was great to see Kyle and Sarah (their baby boy is due right around Chet's birthday next month, and she's very ready to be done with pregnancy!), and Evan and Jessica and baby Sophia!
Chet's grandmother came and brought this lovely embroidered baby blanket gift for them... so sweet!!
Melissa and her friend enjoying the kettle corn!
This event had a really good turnout - lots of Chet's clients, family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers showed up! I don't know these girls (they're some of Chet's neighbors but not associated with our friend group), but it made me happy to see them skating through the neighborhood on rollerblades... ahh, memories of me and Rach and our pairs skating routines back in the day! lol And there's Shane in the background making the kettle corn - an interesting process to watch!
Grandma Teresa and Tater-tot, who was making his own bouquet after he woke up from a nap (the flower selection was a bit more sparse at that point).
This = my happy flower bouquet, which I completely forgot to grab as I left. Kinda makes me laugh that I didn't forget the popcorn but accidentally left this behind. The Wilsons added it to Tate's bouquet, so that worked out well! lol
This was a fun summery event that felt relaxing and refreshing for me. Obviously, my day went in a very different direction that evening with Dad's septic pneumonia diagnosis and move from the ER to the ICU, but I'm grateful for these lighthearted memories and these lasting friendships! And, as usual, I am thankful I took these pictures and glad to be able to document it all here. ❤
