Rachel's 30th!

This weekend included a Tulsa trip on Saturday to celebrate Rachel's 30th birthday with a brunch at Wild Fork in Utica Square!  So much gratitude for this friend group!!

The cake by Laurannae Bakery was very lovely... but very wrong. lol  She wanted the bride's cake with almond buttercream, and instead it was the "Earl Grey Lavender" cake -- vanilla infused with crushed earl grey tea + lavender buttercream -- an odd combo, but not terrible.  Mark accidentally ordered the wrong one, having speed-read Rachel's text.  The familiarity of this made me laugh, as men not paying real attention to what I've so clearly spelled out has repeatedly caused minor mishaps in my life, as well!

Rachel's mom made these pretty sugar cookies for us!

We should do this more often - I'm such a fan of brunch!

The Shoemakers are one of my favorite families for sure!
A few minutes later... Rachel:  "Something's wrong.  This tastes like herbs." lolol

Kelly, Rachel, and me!

The Wilsons (Tate and Parker were with their grandparents).

Rachel with Harvey Lane and Heidi Claire!

They were having an "Art in the Square" festival at Utica, so there were tons of booths set up with creations by local artists, and I spent some time walking around looking at all of it.  Hummingbirds make me happy.

And so does this pink glittery confetti extravaganza.

This woman was working on a new painting right there.

I very much wanted to touch these textured paintings, but there were signs everywhere advising against it. lol

Adorable.

Seeing my friends and strolling through delightful Utica Square that morning, I found myself thinking... I'll live in Tulsa again someday.  God will lead, and time will tell, but I think it's likely. =)

Trying a brighter lipstick.   They never last long, but I like this one.

I went for a short walk at Crescent Park, and it made me happy to be there again, too.

And my final stop before going home was Sugar Llamas with the Wilson family!!  We enjoyed some ice cream and mini donuts and had a good talk about religious hype vs. substance.

I failed to get a pic of my s'mores donuts, but here's a fun donut meme from Chet instead! lol

That's all for this post.

May our Lord Jesus Christ encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word!
