The world truly is "weary." I'm tired and have been feeling a little down lately. And it seems that everyone around me is feeling worn out, feeling the stress and pressure, and as one friend said, "just trying to get through the holidays." "To stay above water." But we're forgetting to take the time to stop and rejoice in our Savior, to dwell on who He is and what He means to us. To celebrate the "thrill of hope" in knowing Him, and to really enjoy each other and be grateful! To get still and quiet before God... "Fall on your knees. Oh, hear the angel's voices." We can thank Him that He came to earth to save us, and celebrate that He is COMING AGAIN to bring us home!
Stasi Eldredge also wrote about Christmas and all the frantic-paced stress surrounding it... how she's felt a lot of pressure to make everything lovely, holy, meaningful, warm, safe, etc. Then she made a point that I absolutely loved about what she wrote in her prayer journal to God...
"You’re lovely, holy, meaningful, warm, safe…You are everything good and wonderful and enticing and longed for about Christmas. You are who and what we want and are trying to capture." Something worth thinking about.
I'm hoping (and it's looking likely) that we'll have a white Christmas this year -- I so love the snow -- watching it reminds me of the majesty and gentleness of God, and the spirit of peace He wants for all of us!
So yeah, let heaven and nature sing!! ❤
Hope everyone has a great Christmas Eve and a Merry Christmas... letting go of the stress and pressure and remembering Who it's really all about!
