August Rush

August has finally arrived, and it's off to a great start!!  I helped Tiffany reformat and submit her resume and application for the Creek County Clerk's Office at the beginning of the week... praying that works out well!  We saw Spiderman for $2.50 thanks to AT&T's Tuesday movie thing! =)

I drove down on Thursday night to celebrate Dad's 64th Birthday with the fam and Bill & Jill!  I love this pic of them and my parents outside Toby Keith's restaurant that night... four of my favorite people! =)

I came over for cake and ice cream after dinner!  These pics = Jaceman and Bampa, Me and Rach with Dad, J excited about the musical card, the pic above with the Lemieux's, a clearer father/daughter pic, J&K being precious, J&K both insisted on sitting by Bill, so Jill gave up her seat to avoid making the Miss K cry! Kyndal was in a fun mood and wanted to show me all her toys one by one, then this backpack! lol Last pic is the golfing Pistol Pete chalkboard Rach did for Dad - SO good!! =)  I feel confident that he's not easy to draw!

I wanted a nice bday pic of Jace and Bampa, and for some reason, Jace went with the crazy eyes and put his hand on top of Bampa's head. lolol

Miss K is in playing-the-waitress mode lately. She went around with her little Magnadoodle taking everyone's orders and bringing us pretend food. Preshface. ♡  She's also recently learned to respond to "What are you doing?" with what she's actually doing... every time I'd ask her that on the phone before, she would just say, "Good!" lol
I'll miss that.

Earlier that day (whilst I was hearing lovely felony trials), Dad went with Rach and the kids to try the indoor skydiving thing at iFly in OKC!  They each got 2 turns, but Rach found it too intense and gave her second turn to Jace, so he got 3. lol  Dad and Jace really enjoyed it, and I really loved watching the videos of everyone! lol  (Bottom left pic is them giving Dad his chalkboard.)

This = my first Friday night dinner crowd!  It went really well, and I'm so thankful and glad for that!!  Fun times and great conversations with great friends!  TK volunteered to pray for us, as well as washing most of the dishes afterward.  He was the only guy that night, but I think he had a good time anyway! =)  We shared our highs and lows for the week, then talked about one thing we're looking forward to here and one thing we're looking forward to seeing/doing in heaven. We also got to know Sarah better as she shared her testimony and story with us. Lots of deep conversation for nacho night, but in my book, that's always a good thing!  We decided to play Scattegories, then I realized I didn't own that - what in the world? lol  So we went with Apples to Apples instead. Entertaining and mindless enough that you don't have to focus too much on it! :)  Kyle won... no shock there! lol
We had nachos - tortilla chips, Doritos, queso, salsa, beans, beef, chicken, lettuce, cheese, guac, and sour cream. It wouldn't be hard for a lot of people, but I was proud of myself for pulling that all together - I even bought cute little salsa bowls that morning but forgot to take a pic of the whole happy setup. Laura came late after running the Pedestrian bridge, so I got a pic of her with her food, which sadly doesn't look very appetizing, but it was good! lol  We did mini pound cakes with strawberries, ice cream, and whipped cream for dessert, and everyone helped out with the cleanup! Anywho, it was all good and fully lived up to my hopes for the first one! 💜 Hopefully they'll continue along the same lines!!

Saturday, Mom came over to help me with my picture wall... we had a nightmare of a time figuring out what would make them stick to the wall. After two trips to Michael's and trying Tacky glue, staples, calling several stores to see if they carried white-colored staples, and hot glue (which terrifies me and dried too fast to work for this), we tried Aileen's Ultimate Multi-surface Adhesive, which worked like a freaking charm! Mom got to my house at 11am, and we officially got started on the wall after 4pm... lamesauce.  But once we figured out a system, we were all over it! We laid them out on the table a few rows at a time, making sure we didn't have too many of the same people or event clumped all together.  Then Mom put glue on them and handed them over to me, and over the course of six hours, we individually glued 231 5x5 square pictures (21 rows of 11) to my wall, trying to make it look like little tiles. (I applied the same filter to all the pics I ordered so that they are in color, but slightly muted and toned down.)

Hooray for Ashley Campbell's creativity and for her blog giving me this great idea!  I freaking LOVE the end result!! ♡  I've spent lots of time admiring it and reminiscing already. lol

This = my happy "Welcome Friends" chalkboard from Rach!  Love it!!  I put it up just in time for hosting my first Friday night dinner! =)

And in random news, Boo puppy got his very own weather app!!  (Boo Weather)  It is full of cuteness and good times! =)

In less cute and fluffy news, last night, a tornado touched down in Tulsa around 2am.  (As far as I know, none of my friends were directly affected by it, but it did hit hear my favorite movie theater. lol)  I was wide awake, thanks to the Emergency tornado warning sound on my phone and the violent thunderstorm going on outside.  While grabbing my flashlight and wondering if I should just go back to bed, I realized water was leaking from the vent in my ceiling, so that's super fun. Yay for having a Dad who works at State Farm and knows what to do on those situations!  And yay for Dad's b-day and my first Friday dinner and my new picture wall and chalkboard and the Boo app!! lol  Life is not perfect, but it's really good!
