This week's challenge is to think about "whatever is noble" and to memorize a new Bible verse. I know how helpful it can be to have Scripture memorized, but I've gotten away from that practice in the last couple years, so challenge accepted!
When I read this passage recently where God is talking to Solomon about the temple he built, my mind went straight to the New Testament verses about our bodies being the temple of God. When that happens, I think it's part of God's Word being alive and active where the Holy Spirit helps us understand things. And in that light, this challenges me to live a life that honors the holy Name of God. And I am challenged and encouraged when I read the words "chosen and consecrated," "set it apart to be holy" and "My eyes and My heart will always be there." ❤ That my life forever bears the name of God... that even when I may feel alone or invisible, I am always seen by the eyes of God... and that I am eternally loved and dear to the heart of God... that's so encouraging and empowering. It offers real security and renewed strength and courage!!
My memory verse for this week:
"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that My Name may be there forever. My eyes and My heart will always be there." ~2 Chronicles 7:15-16 (NIV)*And here's the New Living translation. I had trouble deciding which one to go with - both are so good!
"My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. For I have chosen this Temple and set it apart to be holy - a place where My name will be honored forever. I will always watch over it, for it is dear to My heart." ~2 Chronicles 7:15-16 NLTThat's all for this post, but I may write more later tonight. Either way, Happy Monday, and I hope you have a good week ahead! ❤
