Hey, friends! This post will just be a hodge-podge life update with photos!
Mom and Dad and Jaceman came to see me last weekend! We chatted about house project ideas and picked up Ted's takeout for dinner. Jace rode my bike for a bit, fell in the mud at my neighborhood soccer field, then watched movies on Disney+. lol It was nice seeing them and having them in Tulsa. =)
❤❤
Meme that made me laugh!
Happy photo on my way into work last week (having to enter from the side door for now because they're taking your temperature as you come in). Ironically, they're going to stop doing that when we unlock the doors and officially reopen to the public. #creekcounty
Funny/ironic story:
I signed up for my own Peloton account last Tuesday - huzzah! #boocrew #lindseyclaire7 It's 90 days free and a low monthly price after that, and I wanted to follow real life friends and BooCrew people and have a profile pic and know exactly how many workouts I've done, so it just made sense. (Thanks again to the Wilsons for letting me borrow theirs long enough to fall in love with it!) Anyway, we had just passed 100 rides on their profile, and it was sad starting back from zero. I felt compelled to do at least one workout in every category during those first couple days. So after a bike ride, stretch, yoga class, strength training, and walk that Tuesday, I sat down for a lovely Peace Meditation. I had literally just pressed play when my watch showed a text from Tiffany telling me to take shelter. lol And about 15 seconds after that, the tornado sirens started blaring and I had a message from Elizabeth checking on me!! (No cable, so I don't really know what's happening outside of awesome friends and tornado sirens.) I've lived in Oklahoma long enough that I just don't get very freaked out by tornadoes, even as I'm putting on tennis shoes and grabbing a flashlight just in case. But the irony of having to pause my first official Peace Meditation because a tornado was on the ground near my house made me laugh pretty hard!! My power went out for a little over an hour... and my first thought was annoyance that I hadn't eaten dinner yet and didn't have anything I didn't need to heat up. Before it came back on, I was concerned about all the food in my fridge and freezer (more stocked up than usual thanks to the pandemic). I did rescue this pint of Ben & Jerry's and ate it in the dark while texting with Mom, Chet, Elizabeth, Tiffany, and Malori + listening to Annie and Eddie's latest chat on the podcast + hearing the heavy thunderstorms outside! So that was my tornado Tuesday. Good times! lol
Another meme that made me laugh out loud!
This = the top of my movie cabinet... a scrapbook has been sitting on the white part, and the sun has totally changed the color of the part that wasn't covered. Crazy! (It still appears white when you don't see the middle part.)
My Saturday and Sunday were spent moving all the books, wall hangings, kitchen countertop decorations, etc. into the two bedrooms. I left myself a small path to be able to water the plants in case they're in this takes a couple weeks.
They prepped things and repaired the cracks yesterday. Obviously temporary, but it feels SUPER STRANGE and kinda sad to see this view when I look around right now.
Protecting the photo wall!! lol
How pretty is marble!? I'm sad that it's not good for kitchen cabinets. But granite is also really pretty, and more durable and kitchen friendly. I'd never been to a granite shop before, but now I've been to three of them, and it's pretty interesting. Almost feels intimidating walking between rows and rows of these massive, crazy-expensive (some over $100 a square foot) slabs of granite, marble, onyx, and quartzite.
This was a while back now, but on Friday the 17th, Tiffany came over and we got takeout from Hideaway (YUM!) and caught up on life and watched The Social Network (she hadn't seen it before, and it's one of my favs)!! It was fun. "You better lawyer up, @-hole!" is still one of my favorite lines, and I just adore Andrew Garfield (and also find Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake to be very well cast as the smarmy and hella sarcastic, arrogant guys).
I've been to Home Depot and Lowe's a few times lately, wearing my lovely mask. They may be officially reopen now, but I took this to document the socially-distanced long line winding around to get in, only letting a certain number of people in the store at once.
Miss Kyndal Faith has lost not one, not two, but THREE of her front teeth lately! I love that she gets excited and wants to Facetime me to show me that! =) I'll miss the baby teeth smile!! ❤
Say your goodbyes to the rose-colored walls and this happy rose archway, painted by a very heartbroken LCM circa 2007. I put some gray sample paint over part of it after taking this pic, just to help solidify in my mind that I was moving forward with the new look! And that's fair... it had 12+ good years! =)
Jon (one of the three contractors I talked to) left me this Sherwin Williams color wheel, which has been awesome and helpful! In case you're curious (or in case I forget years down the road and wish I'd written it down somewhere) my official color choices are Mindful Gray for the walls, Gauntlet Gray for the island and TV surround, Zurich White for the cabinets, and In the Navy for the laundry cabinets!! #getexcited
Sweet pic from a couple weeks ago of Tate befriending Loki. =)
And finally, here's a happy slideshow full of memories from this 2020 pandemic season!
I love this MJ song and was a fan of this recent cover by Music Travel Love.
"Heal the world. Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race!
There are people dying.
If you care enough for living,
then make a better place for you and for me!"
❤❤❤
That's all I've got for now. Happy Tuesday! Speaking of... two weeks from now will be our first official "felony Tuesday" docket since February!!! (It was a 2-week Jury Term, then Spring Break, then the Pandemic shutdown.) I know it will be far from business as usual, but at this point, it'll be kinda nice to see some of the attorneys and take a record again! lol
