"As my memory rests, but never forgets what I lost,
Wake me up when September ends." ❤
Some classic NYC memories... I was there with the fam in the summer of 1998... with Holly Dei and Joshua Michael fall 2005... with Chet Lee and Malori Riah winter 2010... and with Mom & Dad + Bill & Jill summer 2017. I'll have to write about our 1998 trip sometime soon so that I have a post to link to for that one. =) Due to the aggressive crowds, it's not my favorite vacation spot, but it has grown on me tremendously over time, and I adore Central Park... and the Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty and the big Christmas tree and Broadway plays - fun!! We toured the Freedom Tower on our last visit, but I hope to go again someday to have the full experience of seeing the 9-11 Memorial Museum.
Yesterday marked 22 years.
Highly recommend the Hulu documentary 9/11: One Day in America.
It's been almost a week since my last post, mostly because I've been recovering from being sick with a cold. Three days into 75 Hard, and the workouts came to a complete halt. I slept from 10:30pm on Friday to 1:30pm Saturday, then sat in my recliner and watched movies in my pajamas the rest of that day. I was beyond exhausted, and the rest-and-recovery weekend was good for me. I'm not at 100% yet, but getting closer.
I took T-man to see Carter Lee and Emberlee at the Deppens on Sunday. Their dog, Pearl, came to greet us, and I had to get a pic of her pretty blue eyes!
I had every intention of writing a Memory Monday post yesterday, but never got to it. It was Murder Mystery Memory Monday, so quadruple the alliteration! We talked last weekend about this 2012 surprise party for Chet Lee's birthday... fun times!
In more sobering news, Babah is not doing well lately... which was a fairly sudden change. Between confusion and memory issues exacerbated by a UTI, an open wound on her right arm that is not healing well, loss of strength, and difficulty swallowing, it's been a miserable month for her, and she spent much of the past couple weeks at Mercy Hospital and Epworth Villa Rehab. She has now been transferred back to her place at The Veraden, but they have called in a Hospice team, which was jarring to hear. They believe she may rapidly improve or digress, and are preparing accordingly. Praying for God's will and timing and minimal suffering for her!

Something lighter to end on - this was a photo-worthy picture at Restore! I'm all for stretching ourselves and trying new things and being brave, but I would slightly change this to "Great accomplishments never come from comfort zones." Chocolate chip pancakes and rom-coms and cozy pajamas and time with fun friends and a whole host of other comfort foods and activities are all "great things" in their own right. lol
That's all for today, I guess. We just learned that our Jury Trial settled - which is always a delight to my soul! lol So I'm buckling down to focus on transcripts today.
Happy Tuesday. Make the day great!
