MM ~ The Mouse!!

*I am three pleas away from being totally caught up at work.  I will be completely caught up by Wednesday, which is AWESOME.  I've decided I'm going to take the opportunity to blog every day this week, as it is my birth-week, and the last week before I start school!!  =)

So today's Memory Monday comes from November 2006, when a mouse had the cruel audacity to disturb our lovely, peaceful home at 9121!  I found this note by Rach in one of my old purses recently, and it made me quite happy. :) 

Rach and I were not about to stay home and just hope for the best... my parents didn't think we were serious at first, but we drove to the Midwest City AmeriSuites (a bit embarrassing when the clerk asked for our address) and made a fun hotel night of it!  Somewhere in one of our scrapbooks, there's a picture of us lounging in that hotel in our pajamas, eating peanut butter M&Ms, Rach drinking her Sonic coke, watching Friends re-runs, I'm sure! :)  I love hotels, and I love not being bitten by disgusting mice.  Dad caught him the next day and we were able to return home safely. lol  Since I can't find the actual pictures of us in the hotel, here's a random older "sister pic" of the day we both accidentally wore the same loud long-sleeved T-shirt... awesome.

And because I found them while looking for the hotel pic, here is a fun collage of pics of our house at 9121 (before the new owners ruined it), a place that holds a million great memories for our family!!  Pics = the piano room, pool table room, Mary Engelbreit room, winding staircase, balcony, pool and diving board, swingset and basketball court, and the kitchen, which was always great for parties!  Aww, memories...

Fun Fact:  Every house I've ever lived in has had a tree-inspired street name.  When I was born, we lived at Cedar Bend.... then moved to Three Oaks Drive... then Whispering Oak Drive... my parents now live at Woodbriar Lane... and my house is on Willow Court!  I love that. =)

While I applaud Malori for taking the initiative to kill the mouse that once invaded her apartment (which I'm sure she would remind me of if I didn't say it here), I highly prefer our hotel escape/avoidance plan! lol

Finally, here's a mini-collage of Rach's birthday this past weekend... her first birthday as a wife and mother!  We did a family lunch at Zio's (where I worked through every game on the kids menu with T-man, who had colored us all "birthday cards" in honor of Rach's birthday), then they came over for cookiecake and b-day cards! =)  Rach was too full to eat her complimentary dessert, so I had the first few bites.  Carter thought I was playing a mean game with him when I wouldn't give him the first bite... he has yet to learn that Aunt Lindsey doesn't eat after anyone. lol  But finally, he got his turn, and inhaled the rest of it pretty quickly! :)
