I'm thankful Mom got this picture of Blake and Wendy, as I failed to get any that were just the bride and groom! (And their photographer behind them).
They got married at the home of Nick and Reece, some family friends who live in Gaillardia. This = their amazing backyard!
Our handsome ushers... Jace was a big fan of the Sparkling Rose drink and definitely spilled some on his white shirt before the day was over.
Parrish fam pic (minus Carter) before the wedding!
Triston "escorting" JB and Rach for a photo op!
"Here comes the bride!" We had a front row seat where I was able to get a pretty good picture of her here. Her fall-themed flower bouquet is really pretty!
Mom was seated on a couch further back, also taking some pictures as they walked "the aisle."
We noticed later that Jace is looking annoyed thinking Mom was taking his photo from afar. lolol
A quick selfie with T-man as the wedding ended.
The reception was at the Gaillardia Country Club (the location of my Senior year JSB). Here's Blake and Wendy making the rounds and talking to every table... please also note the OSU/Baylor game on TV behind them. lol I was thinking of Jeffrey with that game on. And apparently the Wilson and Weatherford fam were there in person... along with Alan, Georgia, and Charlene (who used Dad's season tickets for this one).
I'm very thankful that Babah and Virginia were able to make it for this event! (They scheduled a MedRide to pick her up and take her back to Virginia's afterward.)
I'm not sure how this went down exactly, but Emily and her table had Dominoes cheesy bread delivered, and that made me laugh! They served a Mexican food buffet-style dinner which was really good!
This = JoBug sneakily cutting the very first piece of cake for Babah to take with her as she left a bit early. ❤
And now, Blake and Wendy cutting the cake for their official photos! The top layer was vanilla, the middle layer was chocolate chip cookie dough, and the bottom layer was Irish Cream. I went for the middle, which probably won't surprise anyone. Yum!
JB being silly when she walked out just a minute before Blake and Wendy and everyone cheered for her! lol
The "fake send-off" for photos so that people who wanted to leave could go, then they could stay there and chat and party for a couple more hours with their close friends! Rachael and Dad had already gone, then Mom and I took the kids back to their house after this.
There were several deja-vu moments and intense memories for me this weekend, as the Gaillardia neighborhood is off the Macarthur exit I used to take every time I'd drive to Malori's apartment, and just one mile from her first house - just an area of town that holds a lot of good memories for me! Of course, I was also aware that October 2nd is her anniversary, so I hope she and Jake had a fantastic day. I had to guard my heart and pull myself back into the present a few times, but having a big event helped with that!
I'm so happy for Blake and Wendy and praying God blesses their marriage... and I am thankful this was a lovely backyard wedding and a fun reception, and a good day celebrating with all the fam! ❤
