Phoning It In (#18)

Well, it's another day of four posts in a row!  I just figure I might as well write them all out while I have some extra time.  This final post = loads of random photos from my phone that don't merit a full post, but still deserve to be documented. =)

Here goes...

My mom's cousin, Bill (far right) has a very precious granddaughter named Ava who was born with a congenital heart defect.  She has had multiple open heart surgeries already, and she's only 3 years old (and underweight for her age due to all the surgeries and spending so much time in hospitals).  The left pics are her feeling happy about some gifts Mom sent for her.  Anyway, I'm thankful she has a really loving family, but prayers would be appreciated for her full healing and recovery!! ❤

On a lighter note, here's Alan, Bobby Small, Dad, and Rick playing golf at the annual "Go, Mitch, Go" fundraiser tournament last month!

T-man and Jace with some adorable baby goats!!

Kyndal with another baby goat...

And Carter with one more!  (There are five new babies total).
*This is at the Deppens' house, where Carter has been living since early August.  I'm thankful the kids are getting to see each other a little more often lately.

My new potholders... YAAAAAY!!  Of all the great episodes and funny lines from Schitt's Creek, this is probably the one I've quoted most often, if only to myself whilst eating tasty things. LOL

An Aspyn Arrows t-shirt collage for a post I made supporting Lindsay.

My new Pioneer Woman serving bowls that match my beloved dishes. =)

Jaceman hard at work.  With his eye condition, he has trouble differentiating "b" from "d" or "q" from "p."  So he has to practice those letters and writing sentences with lots of those letters every day now.

Facetime calls with the Miss K are always fun!  She set her phone down to show me some stuff, including this random move that looked kinda painful. lol

She also showed me the cheer they learned at the CHA Cheer Clinic recently! =)

Just Annie F. Downs on the microphone, making podcasts that I love... and that book will be my next audiobook (No Cure for Being Human by Kate Bowler, a cancer survivor who's writing about times when all the cliche churchy advice just doesn't cut it).

Bramble... a cute little breakfast spot at the Riverwalk where I met Lindsay for breakfast last Friday!

Nom.

It had been quite a while since I visited the Riverwalk to go anywhere outside of Los Cabos.  Aww, memories of LifeGroup concerts there in 2007 and 2008!

Waverly Jean (Lindsay's youngest daughter) is a big fan of this bear I got her.  That makes me happy, since it was really something kinda random I grabbed to fill the gift bag with the canvas drawing.

Jace made this rocket in Art class... I was complimenting his effort and attention to detail #growthmindset when he randomly said, "Well, I actually made it for you!"  To which Kyndal quickly replied, "You told me you made that for Mom!!"  And he harshly said, "I can change my mind, Kyndal!!" Lolol kids are hilarious... and I'll take it!!

This was happy news (that it won't be another pandemic-focused season).

Truth... I want to keep growing in speaking up for myself and setting boundaries to guard my heart and energy, being willing to walk away rather than doing things that cause me to feel resentful, unseen, or unheard.

Just a Brene Brown quote I found worth saving.

I test drove this Hyundai Genesis SUV last week... it was pretty and smooth, and a change I would consider... but I'm not sure I won't stick with Lexus.  I came purely hoping to see the colors in person, and before I got out of my car, there was already a salesy salesman standing there ready to make a deal with me.  I really should have known this would be even worse than Mathis Brothers on that front. lol  By the time I left, my new friend Allen had shown me the ins and outs of four different cars, taken this one out of their show room for me to test drive it, and quoted me a trade-in price on my car just in case.  Allen: "So what's holding you back from doing it today!?"  Me:  "Sooo many things." lol  I explained that Dad would need to be part of that deal, and that my car still needed to be repaired, and that I was really just there to see the colors, which I'd already clarified once.  He seemed unfazed and undeterred. lol  That's one of many jobs for which my personality is distinctly unsuitable.  Anyway, yay for pretty cars with names that signal new beginnings! ;-)

Nick and Mindy, a lovely Christian couple who have adopted two children.  I feel that I've gotten to know them well as I've looked at their Profile Book several times for inspiration while making my own!

An old-school collage of Chet Lee from a birthday blog post several years back.  The Halloween pic with the Dean girls, the tiny tea cup, and the mustache pic are all classics!

Our group picture from Dad's birthday dinner on August 3rd, also the last time I saw Carter Lee in person!  I know it's pretty standard for most aunts to go a couple months without seeing their nieces or nephews, but not for me.  If not before, I will see him at their next home football game on October 11th!

And at long last, that's all I've got for today.
Happy Monday, friends and fam!  Make it a great week ahead!!
