JEM: "Are you headed to OKC for the weekend?"
Me: "Well... eventually, yes, but Mom's actually coming down this weekend to help me decorate for Christmaaaas!"
(Long pause...)
JEM: "It's 93 outside, Mockey!" lolol
Yes, when we feel such bright, summery weather... followed by my alarm going off with tornado warnings... and seeing the pumpkins and Halloween decor popping up all around us, we start singing, "Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!!" lol
Here are three "Before" pics...
So. Much. Glitter!!
Even with several bundtini breaks -- ((we split them and tried one of every flavor they make - pumpkin spice, lemon, and red velvet were our collective favorites!)) -- we still finished decorating in record time this year!
Mom arrived around 10:30 on Sunday, and we were done with everything by 9:30 that night. While looking up pictures to remember how we did things last year, I realized we were decorating exactly one year later! So this holiday 3-day weekend is our friend for Christmas decorating! =)
The "After" pics...
The giant Merry Christmas sign is new for my house, and I LOVE IT!! ❤
I did a Christmas-themed Peloton ride on Monday morning, and it brought me a lot of joy!! I also did yoga that night in the room with the white Christmas tree, and it makes me pretty happy that I'll get to enjoy that for the next 2.5 months!
Mom and I moved quickly since we've streamlined the process now. We had some good talks, listened to Christmas music, ate lasagna and bundtinis, watched Travis Meyer to make sure we were safe from tornados, and watched parts 1 through 5 of the 9-11 documentary. Not a very Christmasy TV choice, but I'd wanted Mom to see that, and we finished in time to watch a lot of it together! Then we headed to OKC around noon yesterday for the football game, which I'll write more about in the next post. =)
