Please pray for my friend, Courtney, and her family. Courtney is a CHA mom and alumni who graduated a couple years before me, very kindhearted and joyful and fun... her brother, Tyler Pertree, died this Sunday, which also happened to be her birthday. He was admitted to the hospital with COVID on September 4th, and it was a rough, long, emotionally draining journey for their family with a lot of ups and downs as he was on the ventilator. They were relentlessly trying to get him on ECMO, but it was not available due to overcrowded ICUs full of sick patients. Ugh, so much sadness. His lungs collapsed on Friday and they allowed his kids to all come up and see him for the first time on Saturday. Man, my heart is burdened and drawn to this stuff differently. I feel such deep compassion for anyone who has loved ones in the hospital, and of course for anyone grieving a major loss. Tyler was a chiropractor and leaves behind a wife, two sons, and a daughter. Prayers for them, as well!
This pic = Courtney and Tyler with their dad, who passed away a few years back. When I saw her post on her birthday with a picture of them as young kids saying "We miss you so much already... Give Dad a hug for me" I immediately teared up.
And the picture below is Tyler with his wife, Mollie, and their three children. I don't know them all personally, but prayers are appreciated for everyone in their family! ❤
...I have two lighter posts coming today, but this one should stand on its own.
