MM ~ DVD Cabinet

My plan is to keep a personal copy of my Adoption Profile book (HERE) and place it here on top of my DVD cabinet.  It's scheduled to arrive tomorrow.  In thinking about that, I was struck once again by all the great memories and future hopes represented on this tiniest of walls in my home...

I added the medal holder in March of this year, and already wrote about the races behind each medal:

I will absolutely do one more Half at some point to round the medal count out to a solid seven! ❤

On top of the DVD cabinet are the first year baby scrapbooks for Jace Michael and Kyndal Faith, filled to the brim with great memories and important pictures from 2012 through 2014... lots of cuteness and love and joy weaved in through a very significant season of my own life. ❤

And it was three years ago yesterday that Rachael finished this masterpiece and I brought the repainted "Movie Night" cabinet back home.  When I saw that, I decided I had to do a Memory Monday post on it! =)

Although I rarely watch DVDs anymore, having this cabinet still makes me happy for a number of reasons!!  I love all the TV shows and movies represented on the sides, and the memory of texting with Rach and Mom about ideas for that for several weeks in 2018. ❤  There are shows and movies we watched together as children, along with several favorites from our adult lives.  And the glittery pink adds a very Lindsey touch to it, don't ya think!? lol  It turned out better than I had ever hoped!

And underneath the layers of paint, I love that this original DVD cabinet was a gift from Malori when she moved to her first home in April 2011 (painting party memories HERE).  It held part 1 of her 3-part, alphabetically-organized DVD collection, which rode in the trunk of my car from her TU Law School apartment to my house in the summer of 2009... then we co-carried them all in very carefully, and of course, we had several fun movie nights watching those DVDs whilst we were roommates! =)

When she moved to her Crown Martin Park apartment in 2010, she got a bigger shelf for her movie collection and used this as the cabinet for the blow dryer and towels in her guest bathroom where I often stayed.  I remember the layout of that place exceptionally well in spite of having almost no pictures there.  I'm sure I complimented this cute French cinema-themed case several times through the years, then when she moved to her house on Doris Drive, she gave it to me, and it made me very happy to have it back in my house and put my own alphabetically-organized DVDs in there.  (And it still makes me happy to see it, honestly!)

When I look at that little wall for any length of time, I feel emotional and thankful for ALL these memories.  And thankful for growth.  And thankful that the best is yet to come!! ❤
