Quick Update

 Hey, friends!  Thanks for keeping Mom and our family in your prayers lately.  I wanted to give you a quick update.  Her surgery began around 12:30 yesterday and lasted just over 3.5 hours.  They were able to get everything out laparascopically (very thankful for that - it makes the recovery so much better).  Her hemoglobin numbers were very low so they also did a blood transfusion, which is making her feel better and stronger than she's felt in a while now.  They  also took some lymph nodes, and we should get the pathology results back in 7-10 days to tell us whether the cancer has spread.  Still praying for good results there!

I stayed with Mom at the hospital overnight (running on very little sleep today and excited to remedy that when I get home from work tonight).  Aside from some minor discomforts and slightly careless night-shift-staff issues, Mom is doing incredibly well and her pain has been very manageable so far.  I'm relieved and thankful!!  (And tired.  And aware it could have all gone differently.  And aware that God would be good either way.)

The only picture from yesterday that I'll share here.  I prayed with her and Dad just before they took her back.  I'm grateful for that moment.

Already wrong - that was the only pic of Mom I'll share here.  But hooray for Molly the therapy dog!!  Our dog growing up was a Sheltie, so it made me happy to see and pet Molly for a while.  Then I asked enough questions that her owner gave me her business card. lolol #adorable

Anyway, Mom was released today and made it home around 2:00 p.m. I’m thankful she’ll be able to rest and sleep more peacefully now!  Happy Friday the 13th!  Enjoy the long weekend ahead!!  I'm off to sleep now too! ❤
