Weekend Recap

Triston Michael was Friar Tuck in CHA's school play of Robin Hood this weekend, and he did such a great job!!!  It was really fun to watch him, and I hope he feels proud!  We were all impressed with the quality of his acting and the quality of the entire play itself, which has improved drastically since Rach and I were in high school.  There was jousting and sword fights and archery, and it looked like they had a lot of fun with it, and I'm glad we could be there to support him!  Rach and I only wished they'd used a bit of the music from the animated movie. lol

The Parrish kids have never seen the animated movie, which seems tragic when it's right there on Disney+ for them.  Perhaps we'll remedy that soon.

The final bows are always fun... a couple of the "soldiers" carried Triston out, which was cute and funny!

T-man won "Best Supporting Actor" and was one of two freshmen with a major role in the play this year, which bodes well for him if he wants to continue this in the next 3 years... a couple of his classmates and good friends were part of the behind-the-scenes stage crew, so I'm sure that was fun too!

The Parrish kids + Rach + Triston's Nana and his cousins, Maggie and Ashton! =)

This was at 6:30 on Rachael's birthday, and Kyndal had a game at noon that day, so we had a pretty late  family dinner at Cheddar's after the play to celebrate!

Eeek - Dad's eye is looking *rough* as he's recovering, but the doctor says things look good internally and he should see an improvement in his vision within the next couple weeks!

Sunday was 30-Second-Theology at Life.Church + the Super Bowl party... the Wallaces were out of state and Bill Lemieux was recovering from a medical procedure, so it was just our fam + Rick, but we had lots of great food and a lot of fun!!  ...Dad found a stack with a few pics from old golf tournaments, including this gem of him with Coach Kufahl (our fav CHA coach) and Mark Richards (Rachael's classmate and our great, fun friend who died from lung cancer several years ago).

And this gem of Rick, Bill W., Dad, and Bill L. back in the day!  Love it!!

The Miss K was trying hard to care about the football game, but they're way too long to stay focused on it the whole time. lol  She and I played a few rounds of Go Fish and played with the Bop-It, which was entertaining.  She was very convinced that there was going to be a surprise guest at the halftime show, suggesting it might be T-Swift. lol  I assured her Taylor would be the headliner if she were there, but she kept looking carefully at the robotic-dancers surrounding Rihanna hoping someone famous was in disguise and about to reveal themselves! lol  I so enjoyed her commentary on the commercials and halftime performance - she's the very best!!

While I don't care deeply about football, I always enjoy the Super Bowl parties!!  ...Don't care much about her music, but I like that the halftime show was performed by a fully -clothed pregnant woman (definitely a first).  And I loved Chris Stapleton's version of the National Anthem, and it makes me happy that the Dad from CODA was doing the sign language!

The most exciting commercial I saw was this new trailer for Air, an upcoming movie about Michael Jordan's record-shattering shoe deal with Nike (starring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, Chris Tucker, and more)!!  My gosh - yes, please!

That's all for now!
