Thankful Thursday #165

"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
for His steadfast love endures forever.
Let Israel say,
His steadfast love endures forever."
~Psalm 118:1-2

Today, I am thankful for:

1.  Being Aunt Lindsey to my wonderful niece and nephews... I'm loving their official school photos for the 2023-2024 school year (just ignore the watermark - lol).  Triston - 10th grade, Carter - 9th grade, Jace - 5th grade, and Kyndal - 4th grade. ❤

2.  I had an intake session with my first client seeking faith-based counseling yesterday.  We connected well and I ended the session by praying with her, and I just feel extra grateful for the opportunity to be in this role! ❤ (Full disclosure, I had my first no-show and a day where I felt inadequate to meet my client's needs on Tuesday, and this is all a really big learning curve for me. But it's so helpful to have moments of real connection and hope that make all the effort feel worth it!)

3.  Cute puppies - this was a goldendoodle at Jace's football game a couple weeks back.  She was very active and didn't exactly pose well for this photo ;-) ...but the cuteness was palpable! lol

4.  While I'm technically employed by the State of Oklahoma, I also work with and for a specific judge as their CR.  And I'm very grateful for having had two fantastic bosses in a row for my court reporting career (Judge Golden and Judge Brockman), along with an exceptional Supervisor for my internship at Restore (Debra Conley).  I will write more about that at some point, but I do feel genuinely thankful as I look back on the way God has paved the path for me here.  This week was Boss's Day, which I completely forgot about until I saw this picture of Dad being celebrated by his SF staff (fun)!  Making a mental note right now to be sure to honor the great bosses in my life, as well!

5.  Finally having a textbook that I'm likely to actually read cover to cover... yussss, please!!  Gracious, I've been waiting to officially study personality types since it first piqued my interest in 2010! lol  That CR seminar session is literally what put me on the path to night school classes at SNU, and eventually coming back to go for my Master's in Counseling!

6.  My remaining time in the court reporting world is limited, but I'm grateful that I'll officially hit the 20-year mark next December (whaaaat, so CRAZY)... and I'm thankful that we just got a large, unexpected page-rate increase (from $3.50 to $5.00 for every transcript page we produce, which makes a real difference in our overall income especially now that I'm doing more transcripts than ever).  So that news was a very fun surprise!

7.  I finally have a surgery date set... one week from today!  If all goes well, it should be outpatient and I can be back to work on Monday with a follow-up appointment a couple weeks later.  Prayers appreciated.  (I won't be sharing this on FB, but this meme still made me laugh).

Mmkay, that's all for today.  So many big and small things to reflect on and be grateful for whenever we stop to think about it.  Anyway, make it a great day, friends and fam!!  ❤❤❤
