Thankful Thursday #173

"The LORD is my strength and my shield.
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.
My heart is triumphant;
I give thanks to Him with my song."
~Psalm 28:7

Today, I am thankful for:

1.  Being a part of the ever-growing, fiercely loyal Swiftie fanbase celebrating this happy couple, who are (individually and together) in such a fun season of big wins in their lives!  I'm extra happy about them going to the Super Bowl, and my podcast friends (Melanie and Sophie) are equally thrilled. lol  I also love fun number things, so all of this brings me joy! =)

"Let's freaking goooo!" lol

2.  FaceTime calls from my favorite niece (telling me about her volleyball tournament last weekend).

3.  Even better is in-person hangouts... we finally made it to Tropical Smoothie Cafe so she could try her first-ever smoothie... she and Rach were not fans of any of the 3 flavors, but it was entertaining! lol  And it's always worth it to try new things! #24in2024

4.  Progress.  Mostly the second kind.

5.  January is historically my least favorite month of the year, maybe because I put too much pressure on the resolutions and the year ahead feels daunting or because my house and the outdoors both feel less cheerful post-Christmas?  I don't know, but it felt extra-long this year, so I'm happy my birth-month has arrived!

6.  "Others have it worse, and your pain is valid."  Every one of these matter to me, but that one is especially important to me as a counselor and as a human, and I'm very grateful for empathetic friends who validate what I'm going through rather than being dismissive or playing the comparative suffering game!

7.  "The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable." -James Garfield  ...I'm grateful for a deeper understanding of what is true about me and my relationship with food, and praying for the courage to act on it, reprogram my thoughts, and move into full freedom!
