This weekend, Kate and Holly drove down from Dallas and we had a mini-reunion, part 3!
My chief goal was to recreate these two photos of the five of us from 2002/2003 era... which we did, and it makes me happy!
Sadly, I messed up the pose on this one and mixed Rachael and Megan up... but their hairstyles actually fit the original picture better this way. lol
We had dinner at The Jones Assembly room downtown... a super trendy restaurant with a better atmosphere than menu! Dad watched the kids and Mom joined us for dinner. =)
Rach had strong objections to most of the menu, and I got cracked up at her expression when these deviled eggs Holly ordered arrived! I had one and it wasn't bad... and my pizza was actually pretty good, too! So I enjoyed it, but no one else was overly impressed with the food.
After dinner, we stopped for Freddy's custard and talked in the car while we ate! It was good to catch up with everyone.
This pic is out of order, but J&K hoverboarded down to open the gate for me and then for Holly and Kate later as we got to the neighborhood! lol
Jace showing us a grasshopper he found outside... I like that you can see almost everyone reflected in the window (except for Kyndal and Holly).
We stayed up past midnight chatting around the table, then we slept in a little on Saturday. Kate and Rach came back around 11, and Evelyn and Kyndal played on the mat for a bit...
While Holly helped Jace with eye therapy... he kept trying to tell her stories, but she was good at keeping him on track. lol
Carter Lee was staying with Slate this weekend (just to clarify why he's missing from all these pictures). It was a really bright and fun swim day, though! And Mom, Holly, Paula and Rodger (Kate's parents) sat on the couch out there and chatted while we swam. =)
Rach and Miss Evelyn!
You can barely tell at this angle, but Jace tried to put his hair up in a fountain ponytail to match Evelyn here! lol
Rach and Kate took J,K,&E to the mall to pick up a cookiecake... while Holly took a mid-day nap and T-man and I went for a drive! The cookiecake was a hit, of course!
Dad brought us Cane's chicken and toast for lunch (+ we had Mom's chips and queso and strawberries and dip), then Mom made lasagna for dinner! Megan joined us again around 6:00, and we went around where one person asked a question and everyone answered... a game that reminded me again how much I adore my niece and nephews and feel very protective of their precious hearts. ❤
P.S. I like that Mom and Dad's little patriotic wind-chime thing looks like a hot air balloon floating over the golf course behind us outside!
A post-dinner walk... the kids got on their bikes and hoverboards, but changed their minds and actually walked with them after Holly commented, "So this isn't gonna be a super social walk!??" I had on flip-flops, so I stayed back and helped Mom clean up (after snapping this picture)!
After the walk, we made the five-minute drive to Megan's house and she gave us a tour! It's kinda funny that she lives so close to Mom and Rach, but we see her about as often as we see Holly and Kate. Jace was very quick to ask if he could use her treadmill... reminded me of his first visit to my house, finding something to play with in every room!
A group pic in Megan's living room (taken by me). It was a fun side trip, and she has a lovely home, just as I would have expected! =)
A mostly fun weekend for us, but a very stressful one for Regan... she has so much anxiety when the house is full of new people. I had to laugh when I saw her laying down like this, trying to relax but keeping her ears straight up! lol Poor little Moose! #notrelaxed
That covers the highlights, I think. Hooray for being an honorary member of the class of 2004. lol
