You know how I mentioned that Mom had Covid in my Monday post? Well, in spite of our best quarantining efforts after we realized she had it (about an hour after she cut up some fruit for us to share - lol), I tested positive Tuesday night and Dad did the same on Wednesday morning!
For me, it was mostly nasal congestion and cold-like symptoms, along with messing up my sense of taste a little. I had one day of feeling pretty terrible, then have progressively improved. Mom had the worst of it, but is doing pretty well now too. She and I excel at sleeping in, resting, and watching lots of TV! Dad, on the other hand, decided to walk 2-3 miles instead of his usual 14. lol
We were all able to get the antibodies infusion within a day of testing positive, so I'm sure that helped! At this point, we're not 100% back to normal, but definitely all feeling much better! *Post title by Chet Lee, who had to reschedule his birthday dinner this weekend as he and his family are living in their own Casa de Covid - sad day! Hopefully everyone will get well and stay healthy for the rest of the summer!!
We felt good enough to go see my new house yesterday. ❤
I'm happy to have added Mom and Dad's signatures to the frame!
"God is good" is definitely the perfect thing for Dad to write, and IBLY = how Mom and I write our signature "I'll be loving you" in texts. =) (I took the pic before she wrote her verse reference, so I added that in with the text feature. lol)
Mom found this great verse in Deuteronomy, so I added a couple final verses, making the grand total 52... one for each week of the year! =)
And yes, that drop you see is sweat dripping from my forehead... it's crazy hot right now!
Meanwhile, the Parrish fam has been vacationing at Hilton Head Beach in South Carolina!
Presh face. ❤
They went parasailing...
And deep sea fishing! Carter caught this huge, angry shark - (they threw it back in after getting this pic, but I'm quite certain I wouldn't have volunteered to hold it).
And the Mini Miss K reeled in this baby shark and had Jace hold it for her! lol
Jace was excited to find a sand dollar... I'd never seen a living one before! ❤
This trip marked their first airplane flights ever, and JoBug worked it out for them to check out the cockpit and meet the pilots! I love that Miss K is carrying her lil' travel pillow, and it made me laugh that Jace also tried on the pilot's hat!
Babah paid for everyone to go on this "last beach trip" with her! (I was invited as well, but declined because I'm still pretty new at this job and already took off for Vegas and Colorado. In the end, I obviously missed work these days anyway, but it's best that I didn't go and get them all sick.)
Mother daughter photo op!
I don't think I posted this one yet - some pics from Chet Lee's 4th of July gathering! I was not in attendance this year, but it looks like a great time, and I always appreciate getting photos with the #missingmockey hashtag! lol
This one = my sub-par Covid gift wrapping skills on the walkie talkies for Diesel, Nash, Wesson, and Frankie! They came over yesterday for a summer swim birthday party for Diesel, who shares a bday with Chet, so Happy Birthday-Eve to both of them tonight!! (I think they all had a blast, but I was sad I couldn't be out more with everyone!)
I was surprised to see that Kristin also brought a gift for me - it was a fantastic card celebrating with me on pursuing graduate school and adoption... along with the cutest gift!! YAY! ❤
So I feel thankful for a lot of things this weekend... For God's timing on all of this - we had a delightfully restful, movie-filled week to recover from Covid while the Parrishes were out of town and my judge was at a Judicial Conference! I'm thankful they had a nice trip and for having a few Facetime calls and updates from Jace, Kyndal, Rach, and Triston! They have the sheetrock ready to put in next week in every room, so I'm grateful that we were able to finish the Scriptures and signatures I wanted in my future home just before that! I'm thankful for Kristin being a wonderful, supportive friend/cousin who makes me feel seen and valued! And thankful I got to see all their fam and hang out a tiny bit during the party yesterday! I'm happy to be gearing up for grad school, and grateful to have connected online with two other ladies from Edmond, Oklahoma who will be in the CCU program with me - more on that later! I'm thankful for some good quality time with Mom and Dad this week, and obviously very grateful for God's healing and for the infusions being available and that we all had relatively mild, non life-threatening cases of Covid! Thankful for good health reports lately on Dad's heart and Mom's kidneys. Thankful for the golf course being reopened and how much I enjoy seeing all the golfers again as I look out my parents' kitchen windows! Grateful to feel good enough for a hot but refreshing short neighborhood walk tonight! And I'm grateful that I got three great offers in a very short time after re-listing my house on Friday, and very hopeful that this contract will go forward smoothly!
Yay, God!! ❤
May you be careful that in your plenty, you do not forget the Lord your God by failing to keep His commands!
