Correct Commitments + Monday Memes

"Commitment makes good things better and bad things worse.  The more 'all-in' you are on a good relationship, the better it becomes. The more you commit to a toxic relationship, the deeper you get trapped.  The more you invest yourself in fulfilling work, the more your effort fuels you. The harder you work on a bad project or in an unsatisfying role, the more of a grind it becomes."
~James Clear, Atomic Habits

My gosh, how true is that!??  We tend to think of commitment as always being noble, but it matters deeply what we commit ourselves to... committing ourselves to pursuing unhealthy relationships, or to rescuing stubbornly foolish people who refuse to learn wisdom, or to unfulfilling/passionless work will only wear us down.  We come alive and gain energy and momentum when we press into correct commitments.  Anyway, it made me think about my past and present decisions and where I want to invest my time and commit myself for the future! ❤

So that's my deep thoughts for today.  And without further ado, here are some Monday memes for your enjoyment! =)

This one just made me laugh!

Definitely me... best of intentions. lol

Makes me think of my contribution for Chet's next Bougie Charcuterie party. lol

David's expressions are the very best!

"Ha-ha-ha-ha stayin' alive, stayin' alive!"

This is *not* me - I love deep talks and never feel uncomfortable with tears - but it still made me laugh!

True.

Not in deep pain currently, but this still rings true.

Celebrate moving forward, whether you're conquering a big goal or overcoming a really hard season, or some combination of both!

I do not ❤ the outdoors.

Lol I'd be quite happy with either of these cakes!

Ha this does feel true in MWC - so many past landmarks that no longer exist.

Best wishes and warmest regards!

I did love Super Mario (I was always Luigi) and the Paperboy game (on Blake's Nintendo, of course)!

Hilarious, but I can't promise I wouldn't have been in the group thinking a quarter pounder sounded bigger. lolol

Seems about right.

Yesssss!! lol

I really wish both genders were praised for their strengths and called to rise up and grow in leadership skills rather than feeling dismissed or degraded or entitled to hold on to their faults.  I will speak life and strength within my sphere of influence, which is all I can control!

In other news, your prayers would be most appreciated for my Mom, who has tested positive for Covid.  She felt pretty rough yesterday, but she's getting the antibodies infusion today so hopefully that will be helpful!  Rachael and the kids (and Babah and JoBug and co.) leave for their Hilton Head Beach trip tomorrow, so I hope they have a blast, and I'm glad Mom will be able to rest up through the week ahead!  And obviously praying Dad and I remain well.

That's all I've got for today.  Have a phenomenal week!

May you do all God has called you to do through Christ
who strengthens and empowers you to fulfill His purpose!
