Welcome back, friends and fam... I'm so thankful for all of you!!
I appreciated having a few months offline to process some relational confusion - I wanted to get through the minor emotional pendulum swing without an online audience. You're welcome. lol I'm happy to be real and vulnerable here, but wisdom and discretion are also deeply important, especially since there are two sides to every story, and my words have the power to hurt or influence others.
Anyway, back to the regular blogging stuff... I'm sure it won't surprise you that I've taken tons of photos and documented most of what's happened in the meantime (from August 26th to now). So I'll just jump right into this post catching up on this past week...
First off, I'm mildly obsessed with my new Pioneer Woman dishes - SO PRETTY!! I was a little worried that they might be too pastel in person, but they are bright and vivid and perfect! ❤
Mom even found the mugs at Walmart (the set of dishes only comes with the bowls, salad plates, and dinner plates).
Here's me and the Miss about to head into Walmart with Mom during Jace's eye doctor appointment today!
She was a big fan of this giant unicorn! lol
In sad news, we said goodbye to Miss Rylee this morning. She's been getting sicker and sicker this past week, but she lived two years longer than the vet predicted when we were told she had cancer in 2018.
I'm thankful I was here for her last night and got to pet her and officially say goodbye. Her younger sister, sweet Reagan, is gonna be really sad without her. =(
Mom and I worked on Kyndal's room and closet, and it's looking ever so cute!
We spent an obnoxious amount of time putting up this contact paper on the inside walls of this dresser... it's hard to measure then hard to line up the seams then it sticks to itself as you're trying to stick it to the wall... mess... but look how cute!
What a lovely, organized closet! Probably won't stay that way for too long, but it's nice for now.
Her little dresser and a few books and her unicorn sign. ❤
This cracked me up... Jace had a Bible assignment to draw Abraham under the stars, and he drew Abe Lincoln! =) #nailedit
It's finally Facebook official - get excited!!
(And that means I can make this blog public again, which is far less important but still happy news!)
Remember that contact paper we worked so hard to put up yesterday... well, here it is this morning. 😠😑😒 #timewellspent #UGHHH
In happier news, Tara Jeanette came over to help me bake a layer cake this past weekend... she made a lemon cake with a vanilla buttercream frosting and a whipped cream middle layer... YUM!
She buttered the pan and cut out parchment circles, both of which I've never done before, and both of which solve my cake-sticking-to-the-pan problem!!
We had a good talk about online dating and work and family stuff, and we Facetimed with Laura to show her the cake and chat about life a bit! (I brought her a piece the next day).
It's tasty, and something I believe I could recreate!
I made the Pioneer Woman chicken spaghetti... pretty good, but I'd modify it a bit more next time.
Natalie posted this last week... aww, 2007 Christmas memories!
That's all I've got for today. Hope you're having a good week so far!!
