Spin-ster ;-)

It's heeeere... my new official spin bike!!  When I saw this on the Ring doorbell while I was at work, I felt worried that someone might steal it off my porch.  When I got home and came out to bring it inside, I realized it weighed A TON and I had no need to worry!  I had to flip it to get it through the door.  Thankfully, it will slide on the laminate floor.

Step two was getting it open... also harder than expected - I had to cut the box all apart, and then every part was taped into the Styrofoam in a way that made me wanna scream!  One other person - male or female - would've been incredibly helpful here, but I feel super proud that I eventually got it all done myself! =)

A couple hours later, I followed the instructions verrrry thoroughly and got it assembled!!

This was my first time standing or "getting out of the saddle" as they say, so I had to document that too. lol  I did a 15 minute ride that night, which helped me realize I still needed to adjust some of the bike settings.

Which I did this morning, then did a 20-minute ride, and that went much better!  I have zero regrets about buying and installing a more comfy bike seat on Amazon - that's the worst part of spin bikes, and it's so fixable that it's just silly to me that they continue to make them small and painful to everyone who rides them.

Anyway, it's a very different feeling from the bike I've been using, and it'll take some adjusting.  But it gives me a better workout, so I'm going to stick with it and break it in.  Yay for the Echelon Connect Sport bike, and yay for Peloton!!

...I saw this this morning and had to laugh.  Still not a Miley fan at all, but surely they could've found a more flattering photo - this is terrible.  But she seems to take so many deliberately awkward or vulgar photos, so who knows - maybe she loves it?  Anyway, I'll be skipping those rides for sure!

This = my busy workday today, doing some strength training at my desk after writing and playing on Facebook for a bit.

I made the pancakes last weekend, then I made this tasty taco casserole on Monday... nom nom for us, David!

And some cookies.  I'm so in love with my Pioneer Woman potholders and oven mitts that I feel inspired to take pictures when they're on my cabinet. lol

I'm feeling strong and proud of myself for my solid exercise routine and for building a freaking spin bike this week!!  I've been baking and cooking a fair amount, more fun stuff than healthy stuff so far, but still, getting in the habit of cooking instead of going out is good.  And I'm proud of myself for doing intermittent fasting on the 16:8 plan (where you have an 8 hour eating window - mine is 12:30 to 8:30) -- that's going really well so far.  I'm realizing that baby steps are key in transforming my habits, so I'm giving myself a lot of grace and feeling thankful for the things I'm learning and starting to get right here!  As Cody would say when encouraging people not to beat themselves up over small things, "It's not that deep!"

I'm feeling thankful and hopeful about my journey here.  I'm on a good trajectory, and that's where I wanna stay!

Make it a great day when you read this! ❤
