The Year of Peloton!

Late in 2019, I started using the Wilsons' account and tried a few Peloton workouts on my iPhone at Planet Fitness.  But 2020 was the year I bought a bike (put it together on February 26th) and joined the BooCrew and got into a consistent morning workout routine and finally signed up for my own Peloton account! #LindseyClaire7  I started my 3-month free trial on April 28th, 2020 - the very day the tornado sirens went off in the middle of my lovely peace meditation. lol  I've only missed a couple days since then, and I'm pretty proud of that!

My fav coaches have, of course, been Cody Rigsby (entertaining and ridiculously fun) and Robin Arzon (motivating and inspiring and fierce)... but I've also enjoyed classes with Jess Sims, Emma Lovewell, Ally Love, Aditi Shah, Anna Greenberg, Christine D'Ercole, Dennis Morton, Tunde Oyeneyin, Sam Yo, Leanne Hainsby, Matty Maggiacomo, Olivia Amato, Selena Samuela, Kendall Toole, Erik Jager, Hannah Corbin, and more!

I even love their unique sign-offs...

"I'm Cody Rigsby.  Bye, Boo!!" while doing the peace sign

"Peace and love, Peloton. I'm Ally Love!" while doing the peace sign + T-Swift heart

"I'm Emma Lovewell.  Live, learn, love well!" while blowing a kiss

"You are worthy and you are ready!" while punching with each hand (Kendall)

All fun, and they all have unique catchphrases that make me happy too!

Exciting news:  I got my very first shout-out from Aditi on New Year's Eve Eve in my 50th yoga class!! YAY!

I met and far exceeded my mid-year goal to move up a milestone in each category.  Since October 18th, I've been working out 5-6 days a week for 70 minutes and making sure 20 minutes of that is strength classes.

So I'm thankful for the progress I've made here this year and for all the joy I've found with Peloton and Cody!!

I hit 1250 miles on the last day of 2020 - epic - this slightly-pre-pandemic bike purchase* has paid off bigtime!  And I ordered my more expensive Echelon Connect Sport spin bike (it was highly recommended) which should be here next week!! ❤  I'm committed and in a good routine now, so I'm ready to step up the workout effort and get healthier and stronger in 2021!

I'm a numbers girl, so I clearly thought this through and worked for it.  I'm pretty thrilled to end the year with 111 friends/followers, 1250 bike miles, and 555 workouts... including 210 cycling classes, 105 strength classes, 75 meditations, 50 yoga classes, 50 stretches, 25 walks, and 10 each of runs, cardio classes, bike bootcamps, and tread bootcamps!

*To be very clear, this is not breaking the bank.  I still can't wrap my head around the idea of purchasing Peloton's $2500 bike and then paying an extra $40 a month on top of that... no, thank you!!  To date, I have paid $78 total for the Peloton app itself (a 90-day free trial then $13 a month from July to December).  I use airplay and watch the workouts on my big screen TV instead of the small bike screen - and I use the Peloton app on the Firestick for my yoga classes.  I can take live classes and get shoutouts for my milestones, and I can high five people on the app... so all I'm missing is the leaderboard stats, but the new bike I've ordered will apparently solve that problem, and I'm not a super competitive person anyway.  I already had 3, 5, and 8-lb weights, and that's all I've needed so far for strength/toning workouts.  I also bought this bike for $150 on Amazon (the price has gone up to $228 now, but still very worth it - easy enough for me to put together myself, folds and moves out of the way easily, and has worked great ever since I bought it).  Finally, I bought a thicker yoga mat for $22, which has been lovely.  So spending $250 for 555 workouts and counting seems like a pretty good deal!!

I can move it when I have company (pretty rare this year), but I love that my bike is right there in the living room where it's easy and accessible and something I see and think about!

Of course, I also bought some #BooCrew and XOXO Cody gear just because it brings me lots of joy!! lol

Wearing the above sweatshirt right now as I type this. lol  Okay, that's all I've got for this post.  They're offering a 2-month free trial now for the new year, and I can't recommend it enough!

Happy Pelotoning, and Happy New Year, gang!!
