Trajectory Check

I'm currently reading Atomic Habits for the third time.

I'm going through it more slowly and deliberately this time, listening to one chapter a day without speeding it up.  I want to really soak it in and start applying the very practical steps he lays out to transform our habits little by little.

The author is James Clear, and he has so many important things to say about how small changes can make a huge impact over the course of time.  And we all know it's true.  He also talks about how the trajectory we are on matters more than our current situation... meaning that if you're crazy rich but spending more than you make, you will eventually end up in debt... or if you're poor but working hard and saving, you will eventually be financially secure.

Or in my case, if you are overweight but working out regularly and eating healthier foods, you are on a really good trajectory that will provide good results over time.  If you are skinny but lazy and eating whatever you want, you're headed in the wrong direction.

I really love that concept, and we all know it to be true.  So I'm going to set a phone reminder to do a trajectory check once a week to ask myself which direction I'm heading with my goals!
