Photo Friday!

In the sad news department, the preshface mini Miss K is very sick... she has been in extreme pain, unable to sleep or eat normally, for several days now... Rach has taken her to the ER once and to other doctors three times, and she's still writhing in pain at times. :(  They think it's an upper GI tract infection that just has to run its course (something no one else in our family has experienced) and that she should feel better by Christmas Eve. I definitely hope so!  Prayers for her sweet little self would be appreciated!!

In happier news, I ordered this new "floating frame" thing from Walgreens for my personal commandments, and I love it!

So I didn't do the full decorating for Christmas thing this year, but it made me kinda sad to have done nothing, so I randomly got these J-O-Y canvases and the ornament bowl centerpiece out to throw a little Christmas merriment into the mix! ❤ Next year, I'll go all out!!

Wednesday night was a girls night at Salata with Sarah B, Laura, and Tiffany!  It was fun times, and I liked my salad creation. lol  It was my first time eating there, and I cracked up a little when I saw that their entire menu was Large Salad, Small Salad, or Salad Wrap. lol

Hooray for my Christmasy ImPress nails (press-ons you can get at Walgreens or Target or wherever - quick, easy, inexpensive, and pretty)! =)

The courthouse is closed today - huzzah!

So last night, the very first night it was in theaters, Tiffany and I went to see The Greatest Showman... and they sang their way right up the list to become one of my top 5 all-time favorite movies! ❤  It has gotten mixed reviews, some very critical, but I found it enchanting and incredibly well done - Tiffany and I both loved it from start to finish!!  I've been listening to the soundtrack quite a bit already! =)

The Wilsons treated me to a fun lunch at OSBC today, then I decided to wait one more day before heading to Mom and Dad's since the weather was a little crazy. I've watched a bit of Fuller House tonight, and it only continues to get more ridiculous and painful, yet I soldier through it for unknown reasons. lol

Anyway, pray for the Mini Miss K, go see The Greatest Showman, avoid Fuller House, and I hope you guys have such a delightful Christmas!! ;-)

Personal Commandments

So I'm currently reading (*listening to*) The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. She made a list of twelve overarching "commandments" she strives to live by, and she recommends creating your own unique and personal list, keeping them as short and simple as possible. I really loved that idea, and after reading hers and several other examples in her blog comments (HERE), I have finally created my own list! ...It was a struggle to narrow it down, but I love this list as it stands, and I'm going to put it someplace where I'll see it everyday!
Just so this post will have a picture. =)
Just for this blog, I've added a brief explanation for why I chose each one...
  1. CHOOSE LIFE
You probably know this has been my theme for 2017, and it was my clear #1 choice for this list. In Deuteronomy, God says that He sets life and death before us, and He encourages us to choose life. This holds true for the millions of choices we make through the course of our lives, major and minor, and I need the constant reminder to choose what will bring life in my thoughts, words, actions, health, and relationships!! ❤
  2. BE LUMINOUS
This may seem cheesy, but someone in the comments wrote it, and I immediately loved it!  My middle name (Claire) actually means "Luminous and noble," and that just makes me happy. =) First and foremost, I want the pure light of Christ to shine through my heart and life, to let the light in and to bring light and joy and hope to the people around me! I also want to embrace my unique beauty and femininity, to be confident and radiant, without apology or shame or hesitation! ❤
  3. ALWAYS SEEK GOD'S BEST
This was the note Mom wrote in my Bible many years ago... "Always seek God's best for your life!"  I love it because it perfectly sums up the most important life advice any parent could ever give any child in seven simple words.  And I want to follow that advice... to draw near and pursue and seek God, and to avoid pushing for my own plan and settling for less than His best! ❤
  4. STAY THE COURSE
This is my favorite line from The Patriot, mid epic battle scene.  It's about fighting for an important cause and being faithful to that cause even when everything around you screams that you should give up...  "Hold the line; stay the course!"  Being faithful to God, being faithful to people I love, being faithful to what I know is right, even and especially when it gets hard. ❤
  5. CELEBRATE GOODNESS EVERYWHERE
I LOVE this one!  I want to be someone who notices and encourages and celebrates the good things that God is doing... the good things in my own life and the good qualities I see in others... I want to avoid the scarcity mindset and to be excited when great things happen for someone I love, to rejoice when they rejoice!  I also believe that so much of life is in the details, so I want to continue to be someone who celebrates the beauty of creation, along with good movies, music, food, books, pictures, dreams, and memories!! God is good, and every good gift comes from Him, and I want to celebrate that goodness everywhere I see it! ❤
  6. BE ANCHORED IN ETERNAL HOPE
This is probably the most important one for me in maintaining joy here and now!  Our unwavering hope of eternity in the coming Kingdom of Christ is the only hope strong enough to anchor our souls through certain storms, and I want to hold confidently to that!  I want to keep an eternal mindset to help me process and overcome temporary struggles, and I'm so thankful to have substantial truth and hope to cling to there! ❤
  7. SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE
I nearly went with "Have courage and be kind," but the words of Jesus must trump Cinderella. lol Plus, you can be kind without having a true heart of love toward someone, so speaking the truth in love goes much deeper and often requires more sacrifice and the willingness to confront what is hurting the other person. I want to follow the leading of Christ here, and I want love and truth to hold equal value and balance in my life! ❤
  8. CULTIVATE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
Whether building new relationships, spending time with family, or strengthening my existing friendships... I want to be positive, consistent, and vulnerable. I want to prioritize genuine connections and work to set clear boundaries, be honest, be quick to listen and forgive, and keep my relationships healthy and two-sided as life moves forward! ❤
  9. KEEP THE WAVES OUTSIDE THE SHIP
There's a meme that says something like: It is not the waves surging outside the ship that sink it, but the water that gets inside the boat. For me, this one means keeping healthy emotional boundaries, basically doing a better job of guarding my heart.  I want to keep a calm, peaceful center where Jesus dwells and my soul is anchored in eternal hope, which will not allow my own pain or the struggles and crisis situations of people I love to pull me under. This means supporting others without taking on the unfair responsibility for their well-being or the full weight of their emotional pain. ❤
  10. REMEMBER WHO THE REAL ENEMY IS
A memorable line from Hunger Games, but very appropriate for the Christian life!  When I remember that Satan is my real enemy and he seeks to destroy my relationships and crush my spirit, that helps me to love and forgive other people and to let go of anger. It's so easy to lose sight of who our real enemy is, especially when we've been hurt, so a constant reminder to fight the real enemy is needed! ❤
  11. LET EMOTIONS SUBSIDE, AND THEN DECIDE
A Joyce quote that has proven helpful a few times... and when I've ignored it, I've quickly seen how it would have been much wiser to take this advice. We simply do not make quality decisions when we're in a fit of anger or sadness or emotional panic.  It's always good to pause and sleep on it and let our emotions calm down before we send the email or buy the house or have a big conversation or make any other major decisions! ❤
  12. EMBRACE THE REMIX
I'm all about comfort and familiarity and security, but life has a way of throwing curveballs when we least expect them. I really believe that in the good changes and the HARD changes, God is working all things out for my good and His glory. We do not grow without change, and I want to continue growing and moving forward. I want to be better at embracing new people and trying new things, and I want to trust God to uphold and sustain me through every major change and life remix! ❤

Adore & Obey

Happy one-week-till-Christmas and two-weeks-till-2018 Monday!! =)
(See, sometimes my math is correct. lol)

Last Tuesday, the LG ladies had dinner at Main Street Tavern in Broken Arrow. 'Twas my first time eating there, and it was really good! Also, I'm a fan of the BA Main Street atmosphere, especially here at Christmas time! =) They had fun Christmas music going and had all the trees lit up, and I just wanted to sit on a bench and people watch and take it all in! lol

Thursday, I got to leave early and go to MWC to see the CHA Christmas program!
Look at all the Parrish fam cuteness!! =)

T-man's class did the cheesy Christmas play this year (he's in the colorful robe with the turquoise sash) -- their microphones were struggling, so he had to yell a few of his lines, but he did awesome! Jace and Carter Lee sang some fun songs! That bottom right pic = Jace with his "book buddy," a sixth grader named Josh, who's been really great and nice to him, and the Jaceman is a FAN!! lol  He went over and hugged him several times before we left. =)

Since she's the only one of us with a fully decorated house this year, Rach has been hosting lots of Christmas parties this season!  She did a come-and-go thing for the CHA moms, then they're hosting a LifeChurch staff breakfast today, and she's got another scavenger hunt party for the boys' classes on Thursday!!  They made these super-cute candy sleds for that! =)

Big news - Jace Michael lost his first tooth recently! lol

Random me-being-ridiculous sidenote: Whenever I see pics of her, in my head, I sing (to the tune of the We Are Farmers, bum-badum-bum-bum-bum-bum jingle) "Who is precious!? It's the Mini Missa-K!!" ❤

I cooked Rach's lasagna rolls recipe and had them through the week last week - yum!  Also, JEM and Kelly hosted a Convivial Cozy Christmas party on Friday night!!  Over 40 people came, and I got to talk to lots of friends and people I hadn't seen in a while! It was fun times and lots of great food. And they had Naughty and Nice punch, which cracked me up! =) I had to take a pic of the J,K,P stockings (for Jeff, Kelly, and Penny, but it also made me think of Jace and Kyndal Parrish). lol  After we left the party, Tiffany and I caught a late showing of the new Star Wars movie, so that was fun! I don't know a ton about the Star Wars world, but I really like Rey and there were a couple of intense scenes that I loved! =)

Saturday, we celebrated the birthday of Tall Kyle! =)  Sarah invited us to go X-Treme Racing, and I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it was all indoors. Me, Kelly, Karli, and JEM watched from the sidelines (Jeff hurt his back recently and didn't wanna further injure it, so I'm praying that gets better soon!). In their first race, Sarah's car stalled and Kyle's car hit her, and she got bad whiplash and had to sit the rest of it out. She had a serious head injury in a car wreck several years back, so she was really shaken up by that memory/worry/fear/dread, a feeling I very much understand. I texted her yesterday, and she is doing much better now, so I'm thankful for that!  Aside from that, it was really a fun afternoon and fun to watch people getting competitive! Kyle got 1st place in that first race - me and Karli laughed at that, him naturally being the best at something he's never tried before. Evan got first in another race, and Chet Lee got 2nd twice! So we had them get a pic on the platform together. =)

Happy group pic!!

And here's the Wilsons by the FBC fireplace! Karli's looking super cute and I'm getting excited to meet little Carter/Bennett/Cole/Nora/Meredith Wilson. lol =)

I really enjoyed the sermon at FBC yesterday, so that was encouraging! I got there before the Wilsons, but Heath invited me to sit with their family, which was super nice!  Then the FBC choir actually sang Jesus! Oh, What a Wonderful Child, and I laughed thinking of Sarah singing that at the Friday night dinner and that whole convo!  ...They're doing a series covering different Christmas carols and hymns, and it was on Hark! The Herald Angels Sing this week. Super ironic, as Chet had just been talking about that song at Jeff's party:  "Hey, have you guys ever really paid attention to the words" -- (glances at me: "I know YOU have!") -- "to Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!?" lol  He was talking about how great they were, and it's true. Anyway, the sermon was Scripture filled and full of good truths, and Matthew wrapped it up with the simple idea of Adore & Obey (love AND truth, both incredibly important, and one or the other is often missing): "Oh, come let us adore Him... then go, let us obey Him!"  ❤

Anywho, that's all I've got for now.  It'll probably be hard to focus and get much work done this week, but there's nothing pressing, so that's fine by me. lol

Tinfinity!! (Practice Run)

[12-18 EDIT:  In the hilarious and ridiculous department... just kidding!  I'm usually pretty great with remembering dates, so people just assume that I'm right and don't think too hard about it. Chet texted me something about being glad I got stuck with the new people (him and Sarah) at the New Year's Eve party, and it got me thinking. I had wanted Laura in my group because she didn't know many people, but I didn't meet her till November 2008 (the election making that one super clear and memorable). I also thought earlier about what we might be doing for Chet's 30th birthday this year, which would mean his 21st birthday was in July 2009, months after meeting him in December 2008. So between that and checking my old emails for the LG Christmas party (12-17-08) and realizing I wrote a 7-year Friendiversary post two years ago, I am definitely a year ahead in celebrating 10 years! lolol  So I moved to Tulsa in 2007, had 6 months with Josh and co., a year with the Changie group and Mark & Natalie, THEN met Chet Lee in December of '08. My life timeline makes so much more sense this way. So yeah, I'm considering all of this a practice run. ;) The tribute stuff all stands, so I'll have a Tinfinity celebration of some sort next December. Then I'll copy and paste and repost this again next year, with an updated Flipagram of course. lol]

Get excited!!  Today marks 10 9 years of friendship with Chet Lee Wilson, and I'm feeling all the nostalgia and love and thankfulness! ❤

I came to FBC's 8:30 service this morning (take a moment to be impressed that I woke up that early). I wanted a Friendiversary pic, and Karli noticed the cute n' cozy fireplace... but it was occupied, so I was looking for another good photo spot... whilst Chettles just walked right over and asked the people sitting by the fireplace if they would get up and move for a minute so we could get a picture there. =)  His willingness to do little stuff like that is one of the many reasons I'm such a fan of him! lol

Here's a happy slideshow that barely begins to cover 10 years of awesome memories. ❤ There were great trips to OKC, Pops, Talequah, Joplin, Big Cedar, NYC, Florida, and Vegas!! As well as tons of fun memories right here at home, from all the Diving Deeper Lifegroup days to dancing at the Caravan to tea room lunches, farmhouse bonfires, Friendsgiving traditions, and Friday night dinners!  (...I had to make this Flipagram without the aid of Facebook, but it still turned out pretty good.)

Without further ado, going along with the TEN theme, here's my
Top 10 Reasons Everyone Needs a Friend Like Chet!
  1. That whole "speak the truth in love" command... he does that better than anyone I know! He is willing to be direct and call people out when needed, but he is able to confront things tactfully, reminding you of the good things he knows to be true about you while pulling you up higher and leading you away from things that are damaging to your heart, reputation, and/or future. No one enjoys being called out, but when it's coming from a place of love and genuine concern for you, that makes all the difference. He jokingly says he's the friend you need, but not the friend you want, but for people who genuinely desire to grow and come up higher, he is definitely both!

  2. Dependable and helpful... His yes means yes and his no means no - if he commits to something, you can count on him to be there (and to be on time and be the life of the party and probably help out with cleanup)! =)  He is great about helping his close friends, especially this single girl who fears the outdoors 75% of the year. lol He has planted flowers, trimmed trees, killed bugs, helped to acid wash and paint my garage, repaired the fence, not to mention moving furniture, washing dishes, taking out the trash, and helping me take the girlfranz on their first walk! lol

  3. Laughter... He's one of my funniest and most quotable friends, as anyone who's read this blog for a while would know, especially when hanging out with Jeffrey Edward! =) Just his facial expressions will crack me right up!  ...He sometimes tells me, "It's only as awkward as you make it" - lol - but I think he's got a natural gift for making people feel comfortable - you can count on him to lighten the mood or to speak up with a fun story and keep things from getting awkward!

  4. He is #Bold...  (And not just because he's taken the Keller-Williams BOLD class about 20 times now. lol)  He's a natural leader and has the courage to step up in areas where many guys are frustratingly passive. He's great at making new friends and weaving new people into the friend group, and good at setting boundaries and having the difficult carefrontation talks with his closer friends when needed!

  5. He's all about the birthday celebrations! =) His birthday is a much-anticipated, high priority event, so plan your summer calendar accordingly. lol  He will go all out to make his friends feel special on their birthdays, as well! The Wilsons hosted my Jesus Year party at the Farmhouse, and it's one of my favorite memories!

  6. Refreshing logic... at one point, when my compassion was getting the best of me and I was about to make a costly, emotion-led decision to help a lifegroup friend I didn't really know that well, he told me something I've remembered and thought about often since then... that this person was  a "B-Team friend" for me, and that she had her own close inner circle of friends who would help take care of her (which was true), and basically, to use wisdom and invest most of my heart and energy in my A-Team friendships, the close inner circle of people where I've really established a foundation and connection. It just made a lot of sense and has helped me in evaluating other situations since then. And I'm thankful that Chettles is an A-Team friend! lol

  7. Spiritual maturity... (I saved that for #7 because I'm cheesy like that). He loves Jesus and takes God's Word seriously, and he has a strong sense of discretion and surrounds himself with people who do the same. He is someone who is consistently learning and growing in his walk with God, and he encourages and sharpens the people around him!

  8. Trustworthy and Loyal... massively important and rare qualities these days. He's a fun and talkative extrovert, but he's also a great listener. I trust that his heart toward me is good and that our friendship is solid. Trust was more of a struggle in the past, so I completely appreciate that he will look you right in the eyes and say it out loud: "I want you to know we care about you and we are here for you. We'll do whatever we can to help you get through this, and we're not going anywhere." (That was at dinner with him and Karli about a month after the 2013 email, and it was just a ray of light and comforting truth in the midst of the darkness and fear I was feeling.)

  9. Supportive... Despite his failure to be sunny and bubbly and encouraging to JEM during some of their crazy early morning workouts ;) -- he believes in his friends and makes it clear that they matter to him. He notices and cares, and he encourages them to stand up for themselves when they're being treated unfairly. He said something recently to me about how my future should not be discounted based on where I am now, and it was super meaningful to me. Support and encouragement are always great, but it means a bit more when it's coming from someone who knows you really well and holds unwavering belief in your value and potential!

  10. One of a kind... I said that everyone needs a friend like him, but there's really only one Chettles! lol  I love his whole family, too, and I'm super excited for him and Karli as they're about to have a baby. #birthdaybuddies I have no doubt he'll make a fantastic Dad and Karli will be a wonderful Mom!!
HAPPY TINFINITY FRIENDIVERSARY, CHET LEE!! =)
I'm very thankful to call you my friend (and a faithful blog reader - hooray)!! ❤

*Post title from New Girl's Tinfinity episode, where Nick and Schmidt (both among my all-time favorite TV characters) celebrate their 10-year friendiversary. =)  ...I would've gone with the Tenfinity spelling myself, but I'll defer to Schmidty on this one. lol

Thankful Tuesday!!

I'm feeling thankful today!  I'm thankful that I'm mostly all caught up at work and getting a head start on a transcript I expect will be ordered in January. I'm thankful for all the fun Friday night dinner memories, for good friends, for conversations about favorite Christmas memories, for opulent mac n' cheese from Andolini's, and for TK being generous and buying dinner for all of us! =)

I'm thankful for my new car - I went to OKC to pick it up on Saturday!  I adore the red!  So I said goodbye to Elsa and hello to Ruby Claire!!  (My last red car was Ruby, so I gave this one a middle name. lol  There's apparently a Ruby Claire Boutique, so this car gets to have a fun logo! lol)
I am thankful for my crazy generous Dad, who gave me this car as an early Christmas present!!

It has a few new features - remote start and automatic braking and heated steering wheel and a bigger screen, and it reads your texts to you. This was the first text it read me - the asterisks are all the emojis! lol

I'm thankful for MoviePass and AMC Stubs and for getting to see a couple free movies with free concessions this weekend! =) I'm thankful for Sunday lunch with good friends (I went to Bravos with Jon & Kristin and got these nachos, which were awesome).

And I'm thankful for getting to hang out and catch up with Chet Lee for a couple hours during his open house Sunday afternoon!  ...This page is part of his BSF homework, and it went along so well with what I've been thinking about lately that I had to snap a picture. lol  Less about me, more about Christ!  Less about the church's successes, more about the power of Christ and the gospel!! Yes, please!

I'm thankful for fun text conversations and festive Bitmoji cuteness... they even have one that fits my Felony Tuesday feelings. LOL

I'm thankful for the faithful friendship of Tiffany and Chet Lee, two people I know I can depend on and be real with! ❤

I'm thankful for my women's lifegroup and that I get to see them for dinner and the Rhema Christmas Lights tonight!!  I'm thankful that we get to celebrate Kyle's birthday this weekend! I'm thankful that Christmas is just around the corner... then Mom's birthday, then Kristin Foster, then Tiffany, then hopefully the shared birthday of me and baby Wilson! lol  Get excited!!!

I'm thankful for my peaceful FB break through this Advent season... it's been nice! Also thankful that Kristin, Chet, Laura, and Tiffany all checked in to make sure I knew about Kyle's party!! lol  That helps me not to feel FOMO (fear of missing out) as I'm not on Facebook. =)

I'm thankful for Jesus and all He has done for us! I'm thankful for friends who love Him and sharpen me spiritually!  And I'm thankful for all the nostalgia and hope the approaching new year brings!! ❤
Okay, that's all for today. Happy Tuesday!

This Is Me!

Video Here.

I am not a stranger to the dark.
Hide away, they say, 'Cause we don't want your broken parts.
I've learned to be ashamed of all my scars.
Run away, they say, No one will love you as you are.
But I won't let them break me down to dust.
I know that there's a place for us,
For we are glorious.

So when the sharpest words wanna cut me down,

I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out.
I am brave. I am bruised.
I am who I'm meant to be.
This is me.
Look out, 'cause here I come,
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum.
I'm not scared to be seen.
I make no apologies.
This is me!

Another round of bullets hits my skin.

Well, fire away, 'cause today, I won't let the shame sink in.
We are bursting through the barricades and reaching for the sun
'Cause we are warriors!
Yeah, that's what we've become.
I won't let them break me down to dust.
I know that there's a place for us,
For we are glorious.
And I know that I deserve your love;
There's nothing I'm not worthy of.

When the sharpest words wanna cut me down,

I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out.
I am brave. I am bruised.
I am who I'm meant to be.
This is me.
Look out, 'cause here I come,
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum.
I'm not scared to be seen.
I make no apologies.
This is me! ❤❤
That's my new favorite song, thanks to The Greatest Showman preview... I'm crazy in love with it right now, so I had to make a Flipagram for it! lol

Downton Quotables

Well, I finished my third round of Downton Abbey yesterday, so I thought a quotables post would be good (of course, heavily featuring Granny/Violet).

Favorite character:  Tom Branson

Favorite friendship: Violet and Isobel! =)

The Dowager Countess, played by Maggie Smith, aka Granny, aka Violet Crawley: You're a woman with a brain and reasonable ability. Stop whining, and find something to do!

Cora: Are we to be friends, then?
Violet: We are allies, my dear, which can be a good deal more effective.

Daisy: Seems like a lot of food, when you think they're all in mourning.
Mrs. Patmore: Nothing makes you hungrier or more tired than grief!

Lord Grantham: I thought you didn't like him.
Violet: So what? I have plenty of friends I don't like.

Lord Grantham: You do not love the place yet... You see a million bricks that may crumble, a thousand gutters and pipes that may block and leak, and stone that will crack in the frost.
Matthew Crawley: But you don't?
Lord Grantham: I see my life's work...

Matthew:  Don't worry, there are plenty of hours in the day. And, of course, I'll have the weekend.
Violet: Wh-What is a weekend?

Bates: You can change your life if you want to. Sometimes you have to be hard on yourself, but you can change it completely. I know.

Violet: Don't be defeatist, dear. It's very middle class.

Mary:  Are we to do all of this without telling Papa?
Violet:  There can be too much truth in any relationship.

Violet:  I can't believe it. Last night he looked so well! Of course, it would happen to a foreigner. It's typical... No Englishman would dream of dying in someone else's house, especially someone they didn't even know.

Daisy: I was only trying to help.
Mrs. Patmore: Oh, and Judas was only trying to help, I suppose, when he brought the Roman soldiers to the Garden!

Violet:  You are quite wonderful, the way you see room for improvement wherever you look.
Isobel: I take that as a compliment.
Violet: I must have said it wrong.

Carson: I know you have spirit, my lady, and that's what counts. It's all that counts in the end.

Sybil: I'm sorry I disobeyed you, but I'm interested. I'm political. I have opinions!!
Lord Grantham:  Of course, I blame Branson...
Sybil:  If you punish Branson, I'll never speak to you again. NEVER!

Violet (about Lavinia):  So that's Mary's replacement? Well, I suppose looks aren't everything.

Cora:  Oh, it must be intimidating meeting all of us here together.
Violet:  I do hope so.

Violet:  "Marriage is a long business. There's no getting out of it for our kind of people... Just make sure you have selected the right one."

Richard:  Do you enjoy these games in which the player must appear ridiculous?
Violet: Sir Richard, life is a game in which the player must appear ridiculous!"

Violet: A woman of my age can face reality better than most men.

Mary: He puts himself above the rest of us. Don't you see?
Anna: What I see is a good man, my lady. And they're not like buses. There won't be another one along in ten minutes' time.

Mary: It's not because you're afraid of calling it off? Because I'm not.
Matthew: No. It's because of something Tom said: That I would never be happy with anyone else as long as you walked the earth, which is true.

Dr. Clarkson: So you want me to lie?
Violet: Lie is so unmusical a word.

Thomas (parting advice):  Don't do anything I wouldn't do.
Mrs. Patmore:  Well, that gives you a bit of leeway!

Violet:  I was right about my maid. She's leaving to get married. I mean, how can she be so selfish!?

Violet (advice to Edith):  All of life is a series of problems which we must try and solve... first one and then the next and then the next... until at last we die.

Branson to Mary:  Real love means giving someone the power to hurt you.

Violet: Principles are like prayers; noble, of course, but awkward at a party.

Violet: Hope is a tease designed to prevent us accepting reality.
Isobel:  You're only saying that to sound clever.
Violet:  Yes.... You should try it sometime.

Violet (about Mrs. Levinson): Just how long is she here for?
Robert: Who knows?
Violet: No guest should be admitted with no departure date settled.

Branson:  It comes down to whether or not you love me -- that's all! That's it. The rest is detail!

Mrs. Levinson:  You see, I have no desire to be a great lady.
Violet:  A decision which must be reinforced every time you look in the glass.

Edith, on her wedding day: Isn't it exciting?
Violet: At my age, one must ration one's excitement.

Violet:  There's nothing simpler than avoiding people you don't like. Avoiding one's friends, that's the real test.

Robert: We won't need more than eight servants, tops. So it'll be very economical.
Violet: What about me? Where am I to go?
Robert: Well, we still own most of the village.
Violet, with all the sarcasm: Oh. Perhaps I could open a shop?

Violet:  Sybil, vulgarity is no substitute for wit!
Sybil:  You started it!

Isobel: How you hate to be wrong.
Violet: I wouldn’t know; I’m not familiar with the sensation.

Mr.Green: What can I do for you, Mrs. Hughes?
Mrs.Hughes: Nothing! You can do nothing for me. Because I know who you are, and I know what you've done. And while you're here, if you value your life, I should stop playing the joker and keep to the shadows!

Violet (to Isobel):  Does it ever get cold on the moral high ground?

Cora: Mrs. Patmore, is there any aspect of the present day that you can accept without resistance?
Mrs. Patmore: Well, My Lady, I wouldn’t mind getting rid of my corset.

Isobel: You make me sound very fervent.
Violet: Wars have been waged with less fervor.

Isobel: Say what you like, but I know you care about these things as much as I do.
Violet (laughing): Nobody cares about anything as much as you do.

Edith: Don't demean yourself by trying to justify your venom. Just go! And you're wrong, you know, as you so often are. Henry's perfect for you. You're just too stupid and stuck up to see it. Still, at least he's got away from you, which is something to give thanks for, I suppose.

Violet:  A lack of compassion can be as vulgar as an excess of tears.

Mrs. Patmore: Do you know what your problem is!?
Daisy: I bet I soon will!

Violet: Sometimes it's good to rule by fear.

Denker: Oh, Mr. Spratt, I know you resent me.
Spratt: Why would I resent you?
Denker: Because I'm interesting, because I'm exotic, because I'm attractive!
Spratt: Oh, dear me, this is worse than I thought. Do you always have trouble distinguishing fact from fiction?

Violet (pre-wedding advice): One way or another, every woman goes down the aisle with half the story hidden.

Violet:  I do think a woman's place is eventually in the home, but I see no harm in her having some fun before she gets there.

Violet:  I am a woman, Mary. I can be as contrary as I choose.

Violet: Never let tenderness be a bar to a bit of snooping.
Isobel: What can I do? I can hardly push my way past the servants and run upstairs to his bedroom.
Violet: I don't see why not. As my late father used to say, "If reason fails, try force!"

Amelia: Mrs. Crawley wants to take you away from your son and your family and kidnap you into marriage. What do you say?
Lord Merton:  How perfectly marvelous!

Violet:  There is a point, Spratt, when malice ceases to be amusing.

Violet: If I withdrew my friendship from everyone who had spoken ill of me, my address book would be empty.

Violet (to Isobel): It's a wonder your halo doesn't get heavy. It must be like wearing a tiara round the clock.

Okay, finally, this is decidedly the strangest thing I've seen on the internet. lol  A short Downton Abbey meets Star Wars film made by Thomas. Delightfully ridic and random.
