Day 22: Rant About Something...

For today, though, I'll do a mini-rant -- keeping it short since I'm starting this blog with only 20 minutes left till midnight -- about the Jesus Calling book(s). The concept has bothered me from the very beginning, and the more I've seen and heard about them, the more it concerns me. It takes some real audacity and spiritual pride for the author to write from the first person perspective of Jesus Christ himself. Not okay. Some of it does line up with Scripture, but there is also a lot of substituting popular secular psychology for Biblical truth. If it was just the author expressing her opinions on Christianity and how God works or what she believes He is saying to her, that would be one thing. But this is something much more dangerous, and it's scary to me how many Christians just love it and fail to question whether these "words of Jesus" actually line up with His heart and the Bible. So to quickly sum up, if you'd like to receive a "call" from Jesus and to learn to hear His voice more clearly, please "hang up" on Sarah Young and pick up your Bible!!
