Hey, friends! Well, part one of my weekend was super-fabulous and fun and refreshing, and part two was rather rough. On my way home from seeing Hamilton in Tulsa (more to come on that later), I learned that Mom was in the ER after getting very sick on Saturday. OU Hospital released her last Monday without proper care instructions, and there is now a sepsis infection that has doubled her white blood cell count. She had fever, chills, nausea/vomiting, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, and extreme fatigue (very uncharacteristic levels of lethargy). They transferred her from Midwest City back to OU, then they sent her home (exhausted, sick, and slightly delirious) at 2am with a prescription for antibiotics because they are short-staffed. It's super frustrating, and combined with the lack of care on Monday that likely caused this serious infection, it could easily qualify as medical malpractice. Everything but the fever/chills and confusion is still a problem. Today, I've made several calls and have spoken with Mom's nurse friend, Kristie, as well as Mom's doctor's office and the ER medical records office. She has a follow-up appointment set on Wednesday, so pray with me that all will be well (where she remains stable and doesn't get any worse) in the meantime.
It's been a lot of heavy stuff and exhausting phone calls where I am shifted through 12 recordings before I can speak to a living human being, then they tell me to call another office to have them request what I'm requesting... so in an abrupt shift, here are some Monday memes to lighten the mood!
