Thankful Thursday #158

“Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need Your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to You.
Save me, for I serve You and trust You.
O Lord, You are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for Your help…
Teach me Your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to Your truth!
Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor You.
I will give glory to Your name forever, for Your love for me is very great.”
~Psalm 86:1-13

Today, I am thankful for:

1.  Jenni. And our lunch at Republic, catching up on life since we both moved from Creek County to the OKC area.  And getting her thoughts on the freelance world!

2.  Tim and Amber.  They were a little older than me in our youth group days at FSBC, both role models and people I admired.  Tim was outgoing, fun, ambitious, and sincerely passionate about Jesus.  Amber was introverted, kind, worshipful, and sincerely passionate about Jesus.  Their story and their marriage makes me happy.  I haven't seen them in person in years, but I know their family honors and glorifies God, and I'm grateful to have known them both when we were all teenagers.

3.  God's protection.  And having a storm shelter.  And living in Oklahoma long enough that tornado-y days don't cause me great anxiety.

4.  Living closer and being able to support my niece and nephews in their school activities and sports stuff!

5.  This cute plant from Marla (thanking me for covering a trial after hours for her).  Also thankful to have another CR here who is pursuing a graduate degree in counseling!

6.  Chet Lee Wilson.  And his ability to give sincere & brilliant & tactful answers without taking an hour to prepare them and write it all down. lol This = a trusted friendship that helps to sustain, strengthen, sharpen, and inspire me, particularly through this season with Mom's medical issues and my professional questions and shifting professional identity.

7.  For this inspiring speech... "Nothing is more important than your healthy relationships.  Not your goals, not your successes.  Relationships are where we get to influence, impact, and change people's lives.  Your life cannot be meaningful without them."   Truth.

*As of this morning, I'm also very grateful to say I was accepted with both places where I interviewed for Practicum/Internship.  There are pros and cons to both, and new information that makes each of them feel more desirable to me.  Prayers appreciated as I make that decision!
