The Presidential Tea!!

"Greetings, my fellow Americans!" (Several of their speeches began with that line - cuteness.)

Brace yourselves, friends... today is the day I catch up on all the blogging! lol

First things first... the Mini Miss K's Presidential Tea!! ❤

It began with the Class of 2007, so this was year #25 of the third grade class putting on a Presidential Tea.  They draw names of Presidents and First Ladies... do a bit of research and write a 1.5-page report on their selected person... then get in costume and give a short presentation AS that President or First Lady!

Kyndal Faith drew Dolley Madison, and she did an excellent job on her paper and her presentation speech!!  Several of the kids were nervous and struggled a bit with dates and details - I really felt for them and hope they didn't dwell on it - but K spoke with confidence and remembered the things she'd practiced really well!

YAY for them having a little photo booth area set up!!

The kids who had wigs or gray hair made me happy!

The First Ladies and their teachers! =)

Miss K and her Mom!

The CHA backdrop was fun!  Her dad and Chandler brought the flowers for her, and it made me happy to see her so happy!

Kyndal, Dylan, and Hadley (two of her besties).

Sarah, me, and Lyndsay... two of my former classmates who are now alumni moms!

The portrait of George Washington that Dolley saved when the British burned the White House + a Presidential Plate they created in Art class! ❤  (And there's Ginny the Genesis behind her! lol)

The girls got cracked up that this boy tried to jump in and photobomb them... kids are the best!  Also, the girl playing Jackie O made me happy with her pillbox hat!

A pic with Jace when he joined them in the parking lot!

Ironically, Jace drew James Madison for his Presidential Tea last year!  I watched the video and heard the speech practice, but did not make it for this event (that was actually the day I met with Monica about staging my home to get it ready to sell).  I hate that I missed it, though.  Here are a few fun pictures Mom took!
Carter Lee was Ulysses S. Grant.  I actually helped write his report, and I believe I was there in person, but the blog doesn't clarify and we have zero pictures of me there, so I can't say with 100% certainty.  Look how young and cute they all are!!  He was paired with Jayda, who I loved because she was an older student who was super kind to Kyndal Faith!

Practice pays off, folks!  At a family dinner last Monday, we had her go through it a few times and practice looking up on certain lines and holding up her props.  She also passed out chocolate snack cakes, as Dolley Madison was known for her baking skills. =)  The longer in-class speech and the shorter stage presentation both went well. ...I just love her and the fact that she chose to practice in full costume!

And that's all for this post.
